I made the family tree from my father's computer, and it works just fine there. But when I tried it on my own computer, the tree doesn't load. It's on the tree maker here on the site, not on the downloadable one. Why is this? Am I missing a plugin or something?
I was able to build my Family Tree some time ago. I discovered that there are some errors that I need to correct but I could not edit it.
There are some other mssing information that I needed to input but I could not. I sent a support form to the technical team and I did not recieve any response.
I need assistance about how to edit the Family Tree to enable me to make the necessary amendments.
Could anybody be kind enough to send me the detailed process of editing the family tree or the geneology chart please.
Hi Shadie, I have had the same problem and, until today, had no help or response from MyHeritage. Yesterday I upgraded and now have 'priority help' and had some online help from Esther who directed me to a message somewhere on this site. Therefore I hesitate to give any advice, but this is what I think you have to do.
It seems that editing is extremly limited on the Family site. You cannot delete anyone who has a close relation on the tree. You have to start at the top or bottom of the tree (whichever is closest to the mistake) and delete the parents or children one by one until you reach the mistake. Correct that and then start filling it all in again.
Depending on the size of your tree, the number of mistakes and where they are there must come a point when it is easier to delete the whole thing and start again.
Luckily my mistake was on the edge of my tree and so had to delete and reinstate only about 20 persons. I was looking for some way of linking two sisters who, because of the reinstatement,have become seperated when I came across your email.
I wish this site was more user friendly! I can spend hour trying to figure out how to do simple operations. Like remove a duplicate fact, or change home person, etc.
Someone agrees with me! This is not the easiest software to use, I seem to spend ages like you digging around for things. Even the Help file is complex even though it looks as it should be easy to use!
Technically I think they have done quite well but the whole thing needs to be humanized now.
I ave changed computers since last updating my family tree, and cannot seem to get to the right screen to be able to make changeis to my family tree. I am the webmaster but I cant get to where I can make changes I can only view my family tree. Please help
Hi,The reason you cannot make changes is because you published your tree from FTB originally. so it is not an online editable tree.

f you want to download your tree from the site and continue working on FTB and publish again, just go to the site>family tree>manage trees where you will have the option to download. Download it to somewhere you can later on find and then open it, it will be opened by FTB.Open your family tree in Family Tree Builder.Go to File > Export Gedcom.Now go to your family site.Click on Family Tree > Import Gedcom.Browse your computer to find the gedcom you just created. Click upload and that's it!Now you have a family tree that you can work on online. **Keep in mind that the Import Gedcom feature on family sites will not include photos. You'll have to include them separately.If you need help with any of this, please let me know.
I just updated around 120 names, and I have not been able to see my tree in 3 days. All I see is a blue screen, and it is not the flash player becase I have downloaded it. Someone please help me out.
I published a family tree a little over a year ago. and didn't visit it until just recently. In that time span I had deleted the family tree builder from my computer. So I re-installed it so I could edit the family tree I still have on my acocunt. Is there a way to get the tree I have on this website to the Family Tree Builder?
Yes, if you have your tree on the site then you can definitely download it to your computer.
Go to myheritage, sign in and then Family Tree> Manage Trees. There you will have a list of your trees and the option to download. Download it to somewhere that you can find later on and then open it. It will be opened by Family Tree builder.

Family page (Tree Style) when entering photographs the photograph appears on the picture page, BUT the persons icon disapears and no photo appears on the family page. If photograph is deleted the icon reappears. IT is most annoying, PLEASE HELP.
