This happened to me the first tree I built, I put about 30 members on it and about 15 of them doubled up and I could not get rid of them. It was a few hours wasted as I was copying of my brothers tree on genes reunited, I tried to delete but it wouldnt so I bit the bullet and started again. I now have got to over 500 and the problem has not reoccured so fingers crossed maybe it only happens the first time?
I have next trouble. I installed the program long time ago and everything worked well. It synchronized and similar stuff. Recently I upgraded the program to the last version and made synchronization once again. As a result all new pictures appeared on the web-site and all my relatives, except me, disappeared :( I was left alone. But they are left locally in my program.... Did anybody have similar situation?
I have the same question as Jana, how do you remove a record for a person? I have added one person twice to the family tree and can find nowhere that tells you how to delete this record for this person?
To delete a person in a family tree, click on the plus sign underneath the person’s name. The second option in the list that comes up will be “delete this person”.
Please make sure that there are no children attached to a person that you would like to delete.
I understand if this is frustrating for you because, for example, there may be persons "high up" in the tree that you need to delete and it would mean deleting a lot of children in order to get to him/her. The best thing to do is EDIT the information on that person if you can rather than trying to delete him/her altogether.
Hi, I have a question in respect to adding an email.
I added the wrong email to someone I wanted to invite (person A) and invited, I then realised my mistake and invited the correct person (person B) with the same email address. then when I put the cursor over person A, it showed person B's releationship to me as person A
So basicaly I had created a third person. I have solved the problem by deleting person A and putting him back into the tree and deleting him from the site.
Is this a bug or is it because I have only just started to use this site?
The Family Site differentiates between members using their email address. So what you experienced is not a bug, but rather the result of mixing up the email addresses, and the associations to the people in your tree.
Log into your account on the MyHeritage.com website. Once you are logged in, go to the ‘My profile’ page located at the top right hand corner. Next, click on ‘Edit my Profile’ button, and a small page will open where you can change your email address.
I am happy to see MyHeritage provide Chinese version. In Chinese, people put last name first, and first name last. Please allow users to set the name order to swap the first name and last name. This feature is necessary for attracting Chinese users. Thanks.
Hi, Thank you for writing to us. Please click on the toolbar option in your online tree. A window should pop up that will allow you to choose to display last names first.
