Thanks for your comment. I have used the option you are talking about, but it only empties the family tree tab, it does not remove the whole website. The family tree is only one part of the family website and the URL and website will still exits after you remove the tree (and thus come up in searches and possibly even send out email to members).
Thanks for writing. I am sorry you are having trouble.
The reason the grey "unknown" shows up when you try to delete someone has to do with the way family trees are built and how the family tree program at MyHeritage works.
In standard family tree logic there must always be a man-woman pair whenever a child exists in the tree.
In order to comply with those standards, the family tree program at MyHeritage also requires a man-woman pair in order for a child to exist in the tree.
This means that anytime there is a child attached to two persons in the tree, and you try to delete one of those parents, the program is forced to keep a "person" in that place. Thus, our lovely unknown.
We are currently working on a better solution to this problem.
In the meantime, your best workaround is to make sure that there are no children attached to a person that you would like to delete.
I understand if this is frustrating for you because, for example, there may be persons "high up" in the tree that you need to delete and it would mean deleting a lot of children in order to get to him/her. The best thing to do is EDIT the information on that person if you can rather than trying to delete him/her altogether.
If you have further questions, please let me know.
Well, let's start from the beginning (i was waiting for a person from heritage to see my question)...
I started editing my family tree that i was already included, then i added my wife and we dont have a son (Yet). I did the same with my brother, but he have a son. I added the son too. At this momment i got on some link (maybe with help i dont remember), and turn back to family editing using the back button at my browser. I noticed that the family tree havent saved my editing, so i did it again... two wifes and my brother's baby.
Ok... then i left and returned some time later. After this i saw that there is two wifes for me and my brother. This duplicated person have the same name and if you click on both, just one (the first one) is selected. When i found my wife's (no son's) delete link i used it and the duplicated person appears as Unknow. There is no other way to delete it?
thanks for the help and congratulations for the site, is very useful and well done.
Under the Family Tree tab, click on the partner you want to delete. They should appear on the left side of your scrree. Look under the picture and you should see a "delete this person" tab.
I am not able to delete unwanted/duplicate photos with Information. They are showing up in the Classic Display. There should be a DELETE facility in the EDIT .

My computer crashed and I lost all the info and pictures I put into FTB. I still have my website but none of the tombstones pictures are in there. Or at least I can't find them... How do I get a GEDCOM from what is online to start the FTB again. Or is that information somewhere online.
If you build your site on the site, then the members of your site can add and edit details in the family tree with no problem.
All you need to do is invite your family members to be members of your site!
my family members have not been able to edit on the site.
I tried to look at the privacy settings and the box to check to allow site members to "post content" for family tree page is greyed and I can't check it.
Azt meg lehet oldani, hogy mikor egy vendég nézi a családfát lássa a képeket és a családnevet is? Mert most nincs kép és a neveknél ott a <Magán> kifejezés.
It is possible to solve it, that when a guest looks at the family tree let him see the pictures and the surname? Because there is not a picture and the names now there the <private> expression.
I say thank you for the answers.
