I have more than one place where two sides of my family married each other.So I am related on both sides of my family to each. How do I tie them together or do I have to list them twice
there are 3 children that list thier siblings 2 or 3 times. i thought perhaps each sibling listing is a seperate duplicate of the child, but it is not, ive verified this by manually checking every person in the tree list. heres the thing.
One girl shares a half brother through her biological mother, then shares a brother through her bioligcal father, each of these brothers show relations to the other brother as well, which technically it shouldent, because there is no parental connection with the other parents of the child.
As you can see in the picture, this is Ewa's box. Ewa and Josh are half siblings, both born to the same mother. Ewa and Lucas are half siblings born to the same father. IT even shows herself as her own sibling.
My family flash tree shows my mother's parents in the same horizontal level than my father's parents. This is how it should be, they are all my grandparents and are from the same generation, so they should be viewed in the same horizontal line in the tree. However, in the pdf report they are shown in different horizontal levels which makes the tree much harder to understand in terms of who is my grandparent or not. My mother's parents are shown much higher in the page than my father's parents, this doesn't make much sense. Also, for example, my mother, who has lots of brothers and sisters is shown much lower in the PDF page than her brothers and sisters. That also doesn't make sense. It seems the flash version has a perfect tree but the pdf version is somewhat distorted.
Although it is not necessary that the pdf report looks exactly the same as the flash version (in terms of graphics) it seems to me that it should at least have the same tree structure and not re-arranje the leaves in a different way. I want to print out a pdf version to some of the older people in out family and if the tree is not easy to understand they are not going to like it much. Especially if doesn't make sense.
MH is a great website. I love it and give you my congratulations. However the pdf report (which in my case is really important to show the tree to older people in my family who don't have a computer) is a big dissapointment so far.
Is there a solution for this? Or am I doing something wrong?
Dopo aver aggiornato il mio albero genealogico con "Family tree builder", non riesco più ad aggiornarlo collegandomi direttamente on-line. In pratica, non posso più editare nessuna persona dal sito ma devo riscaricarmi tutto e ripubblicarlo dal pc. Come posso fare ad ovviare a questo problema? Io mi collego anche da altri pc. Inoltre, ho abilitato all'aggiornamento anche alcuni miei parenti, ma anche loro hanno lo stesso problema: dalle schede on-line dell'albero dal sito è sparita l'icona della matita che ci permetteva l'editing.
Se l'albero è nato con la pubblicazione remota è normale: puoi consultarlo on line ma non editarlo. Nella gestione degli alberi è riconosciuto come FTB.
Esportalo dal Builder in gedcom e poi importalo on line. Sarà riconosciuto come GEDCOM, ma editabile

Somehow one of the members at my familytree has managed to register the same person as mother and daughter-in-law. This way I am not able to delete either of them to make it correct. Is there any work around? Is it possible to access the person file directly?
I would like to no how many members are allowed on any of the sites free or pay. As I dont want anymore surprises like when I was just locked out of my own site because I unknowingly exceeded my limit on people in my tree. I cant even access my own site to copy,download,erase or change settings. Of course they dont tell you this will happen when you sign up. So now in effect I have to pay just to see my site.
Beware******* Beware you can be held hostage and ransom will apparently have to be paid so that you can retreive or even see your own FamilyTree site!!!!!Should you exceed the stated limits. I wonder if that applies just to people or is it data & picture space also that if you exceed the plan specs that you will then be locked out???
