I'm quite new with My Heritage. I use Family Tree Builder and than publish it to my web site. I'm not sure how but I have ended up with duplicated photos and albums (some of them are completely empty) on the web. How can solve this problem and properly organise my photos?
I'm kind of stumped about how to manage my family site's message boards.I have 4 Boards: Announcements, Family Stories, Gossip, and Research (I just successfully added Research). So now if I want to add a category, I go to manage categories. I added "using this site" as a category, but I don't understand the 2 drop-down boxes for heirarchy.
I see you have two types of trees on your site: one was created on the site and two were created in Family Tree Builder. The trees created in Family Tree Builder cannot be edited online, so you will have to edit them only in Family Tree Builder. If the date you refer to is in one of these trees, go to the person's card in Family Tree Builder and edit the date in their details.
im new to the site Ithink its brilliant and have uploaded me tree and let all my family know, some of them have already set up their own site but are wondering can they transfer the details from mine to thier site? can you help
That is a dumb option made after my heritage bought my parents.
It worked before and now doesnt...the rules when I signed "meusparentes" seem no to apply anymore...im getting the feeling that is better to erase all the familly profile and move elsewhere before it turns too dark
For a start I think the conditions should be maintained for people coming from "meusparentes.pt"
The feeling I got when not able to export the info is that someday i may end up forced to pay to access my own information.
In my opinion there should be a at least native proprietary format to exchange the info between the online and offline software. Not everyone has internet access, if we need to get some info on the field in, in the present model you can't.
At the present my family tree grew so much that know we have at least 4 or 5 families in. One needing to access ofline the info must "beg" for the manager to give him access to the info even if he doesnt know the guy. I think the "family manager" figure doesnt make much sense. It just give u a feeling contrary of the one for which the site was built.
My 10 cents
I am sorry for the inconvenience - We realize the the two companies do not provide the exact same interface, and we are working on improving that.
In the meanwhile, if you let me know what it is you want to do, I will try to help you.
