I am the administrator of my site, and I have been trying to change my e-mail address, but for some reason the system is telling me that the address I enter is already in use. I do have the right address in my information in the genealogy tree software, but when I access the tree on the internet, it keeps showing the wrong address.
(I have a premium account) I downloaded Family Tree Builder and used it for a while. I like it very much. I then uploaded my information to a website. I wanted to involve some family members. I wanted them to be able to make changes and add information. When they couldn't I found out that I had to 1) upload a GEDCOM file to my site and 2) make these members into Site Managers. I did this and now we have been using the site for a week or two and the other site managers have been able to make changes.
1. It seems that I can't use Family Tree Builder anymore. If I upload a file from it to my site it will overwrite everything the other Site Managers have added. Can I use Family Tree Builder when I have multiple site managers?
2. It seems that some of the functions available in Family Tree Builder are not available on a multi-site manager site. I think I have had trouble doing updated Smart Searches within the website itself.
3. I have a premium account and I wanted to add another site to do some separate research on a branch of the family. I added the site and it shows up as a "basic subscription" site. I thought I could have multiple sites under my Premium subscription. How do I put my two sites (what is the maximum) under my Premium account? Also, the site shows up linked to my first site and I don't necessarily want the to be linked. How do I "unlink" them?
I tried to find answers to these questions in the 320 page manual but didn't have any luck.
If the tree was originally created in Family Tree Builder and published to the family site, both members and site managers cannot edit the tree online. The tree has to be edited by the site manager in the software Family Tree Builder and then republished to the family site.
You are correct that changing the tree to a Gedcom file and uploading that to your family site makes the tree editable online, but this is the case for site members as well as site managers, so there was no need to promote your site members to managers.
There are some features that are available in Family Tree Builder, and are not available on the family site, such as Smart Research. Since Family Tree Builder is installed and runs on your computer, it does have some more advanced capabilities.
Family site upgrades are for a specific site. To enjoy the benefits of a family site upgrade for each of your sites, please upgrade each of them independently. You can create as many trees on one family site as you would like, provided that you are below the site quota limit. For a basic site this is 250 people in all trees, for Premium it is 2500, and it is unlimited for a Premium Plus site.
I'm wondering if I can run the Family Tree Builder from my computer (to take advantage of the extra capabilities) at the same time I have a website online which I am sharing with other people as I have described.
I tried this but it seemed that Family Tree Builder wanted to update the online site which I didn't want it to do. How can I run these two completely separately so that no accidental uploads occur, spoiling all the work the members of our site have done?
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that you have to pay for each premium site. As far as smart matches go, my list hasn't changed at all in about a week, despite having deleted and added a bunch of people.
I started my family tree in Russian. Is it possible to change the main menu, messaging, etc. to English? Changing it in the Settings does not help. Every time I open the tree, I have change the Language flag manually.
I can't do this I spend to much time working on this project it's to many data. Site programmers should be alert about it and fix this feature because users are not sitting in one country they spread to many
Your site changes the site language according to your IP address.
What you can do is bookmark your site with ?lang=EN in its address.

What this will do, when visited, is always go to your site and FORCE the language as English. It will not switch to Russian, which it might otherwise try to do because of your location.
Another solution is avoid logging off every time. When you stay logged on, the risks are very minor, and cookies remain and remember your language preferences. This way visiting myheritage.com will keep you in English. But you have to log off if someone else is using MyHeritage.com on a different account on the same computer.
I tried doing this but it dows not work. I am told I cannot have a" ?" in the address. I just paid for five years and because I am in Sweden I have to work in Swedish? It is not my language. Somebody please help!
How to I change the view so that I can see my entire tree? When I click on TREE, it only shows my own line back to my great grandfather thru my grandfather, but does not show any of my grandfather's siblings. How can I change this so that I can see them all?
