Glad to be of assistance, there is also a book report system on the tree builder which I use to produce pdf reports which is very good, you should try experimenting with it and when you produce these reports you can upload them to your site for all your members to see.
Hi everyone, Using FTB Basic Plan - Well I'm just a little confused about the stats on the sites Home page, The stats bar graph says I'm 79% complete (Complete of what), and figures otherwise show different.
eg) - I'm alloted 250 people, and have 133, it does show 53.2 % - this is correct,
-And 250 MB storage , with 4.6 % used, correct but
if I added a photo of myself, as it suggests, that will take 6%, does this mean that's 6% of the 250, or will it bring my usage up to 6% of the storage. Can't figure were the 79% comes in.
It has nothing to do with your site account.
The ...% refers to how accurate, how detailed the information is you have already put in -- mainly into your profile section (contact info, interests, etc.), or photo-tagging -- and you are given further suggestions about what is missing:
See: homepage >> What next? >> Show more suggestions >> -- if you look at this, you will surely understand what is meant.
How do we edit spelling mistakes made and information such as contact details? I cannot seem to get at editing contact details of relatives I have put up on my tree.
I even tried deleting the people to restart, but not permitted to delete unless all linked relatives are deleted, but then get into a loop !!! VERY frustrating
What are the errors that you are trying to correct? Are they in the profiles in the actual tree? Or of members on the site?
When you invite members to your family site, profiles are cerated for them, and from then on, they need to edit their profiles themselves by logging in, and clicking on MyProfile > Edit My Profile.
I have My Heritage Tree Program on my computer and also the online tree as well, I have tried to upload the computer tree to the web tree and it looks like it is working but I have 392 people on my computer tree and 348 on the web tree. This is the count after I did the upload. I don't know if it matters but the web tree is listed as the default tree. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong to not get all the names on the web tree. Thanks
Is it possible that there were really 348 people in your tree in Family Tree Builder, and not 392 people?
Please note that when you delete people in your tree in Family Tree Builder, their id numbers are not reused. This means that you may have some id numbers that are not used, and this is why it may look like you have more people in your tree than you do.
Would someone please look into this a little further for me. The names are not going from the computer tree to the web tree. I checked one of the people with 12 children and they are on the computer tree but not the web tree. I really need some advice with what to try next to put these 2 trees together.
Hi Esther, That probably is part of the problem but, for example there is a person Ada on the computer trees it shows her 12 children but on the web tree none of them are listed. Any other ideas??? Also would it be best to add on the computer tree and then upload to the web or reverse it and do the adding to the web tree? Thanks, Sue
I just looked into the issue on your site, and I see that you have two different trees on your site:
One tree that was created on your family site has only 348 people, but that is because you have not put everyone in that tree, that you created online.
The other tree that was created in Family Tree Builder and published to your family site has 392 people in it. This means that all the people that were in the tree were successfully published to your family site.
Would you like to delete the tree that you created online?
To remove a tree just go to Family Tree > Manage Trees and you will see the option under the 'more' option.
I went and clicked on the other tree that you mentioned and see that all the people are there. I guess what I am supposed to do now is to delete the one that is incomplete and when I work on the computer it will up date the one on the web. Am I correct with this. I also changed the default to the completed tree. This is such a great program and I know I will love it once I have this cleared up. Thanks for being so patient and helping me with this. Sue
I'm quite new with My Heritage. I use Family Tree Builder and than publish it to my web site. I'm not sure how but I have ended up with duplicated photos and albums (some of them are completely empty) on the web. How can solve this problem and properly organise my photos?
I'm kind of stumped about how to manage my family site's message boards.I have 4 Boards: Announcements, Family Stories, Gossip, and Research (I just successfully added Research). So now if I want to add a category, I go to manage categories. I added "using this site" as a category, but I don't understand the 2 drop-down boxes for heirarchy.
I see you have two types of trees on your site: one was created on the site and two were created in Family Tree Builder. The trees created in Family Tree Builder cannot be edited online, so you will have to edit them only in Family Tree Builder. If the date you refer to is in one of these trees, go to the person's card in Family Tree Builder and edit the date in their details.
