Thanks for getting back to me. If I uinderstand you correctly, the software has to reside oin my local c:\ drive but I can have my data on the network drive. That's what I've tried to do but the software keeps picking up my data from the c:\ drive. I'm going to back up my project the c:\ drive and then move that entire folder to my network drive.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. In order for the software work properly, the data also needs to reside in your computer for a smooth opening and working with it.
What I tried to suggest was that you can make a copy of the data and save it anywhere. But still you need to keep the original version on the computer.
Nonetheless, remember that by syncing your tree to your family site on MyHeritage, you are actually doing the same thing as saving it on a Cloud. In other words, you are sycing and saving it to a remote server (MyHeritage's server).
The cloud will be the way of the future and if the software cannot be loaded to that network drive-- then it should be high on the developement team agenda-- you know third on the list after, coffe, football and Golf.
Hi, I've just been updating my Family Tree and got a little carried away and started adding non related people to the tree, such as the family of my Husband, who obviously is not blood related to my Parents etc. I have started a new Family Tree for his family and now I want to delete his family from the other Family Tree. How do you do this as I can't find a "delete record" or similar anywhere.
In order to find records from a specific country, I would like to recommend you to refine your search by country / state / city by entering a location on the field(s) named: Place. You can also scroll down to the map and click on the specific country. This will rearrange the results placing the most relevant to the location first.
Those are the current collections we offer for Scotland:
I don't know how anyone else feels, but I find that a pedigree view leaves me much more screen real estate to work with. I hate the tree view that MyHeritage provides - it takes way too much scrolling around to see various relatives. I will actually cancel my subscription if they don't offer a pedigree view soon. There are other great sites that offer tree designs one you upload a gd file.
I still feel that that the screen view that is offered takes way to much time to scroll through to get through your tree - I much prefer the Pedigree View offered on Ancestry.com At least I can see several generations on one screen! The tree view offered here is good for some things, but not for ancestry comparisons
