Okay, so what if you're the manager of the tree and you have no editing choices anywhere on the page? Do I have to upgrade my account to have the capability to edit, add and...manage my tree? If so, then this page of history is closed.
One reason that could explain why you are not able to edit your tree right could stem from the difference between the types of trees that you could have online.
There are three different types of trees that you can have on a family site; a Web Tree that was made online, a tree that was imported to your family site using a GEDCOM file, or a tree that was made in Family Tree Builder, and published to your family site.
When you create a family tree in Family Tree Builder and publish it to your family site, you CANNOT edit the tree online. If you built your tree in Family Tree Builder, each time you would like to make changes to your tree online, edit your tree in Family Tree Builder and then re-publish your family tree to your family site. This will update the previously published tree (with the same name) on your site.
My mother in law and I set our trees the same day but she had a add button on her's and I do not. I do not like the tree builder. How can I change my tree so I can add family without doing the tree builder?
Family Tree Builder trees are currently not editable from your family site. Family Tree Builder trees are “Published” to a family site so they can be viewed by your family members, but all editing occurs in Family Tree Builder and not on your family site.
If you would like to have a family tree you can edit online, please see the following:
I'm having that problem too? while in the online view, I only see part of my family tree??? did you find out how to view the entire tree of decendents all at once?
Myheritage.com/research doesn't support Apple so this site is not much use to me, as the research is what I need. Is there any talk of producing a Mac version. Almost everyone in my immediate community is now using Apple for their personal business - there are many advantages. Hopefully something is in the works! Thanks. Ed
But can a "member", i.e., not the one who created the tree, export a gedcom file of portions of the tree that apply only to that member's family? If not, how does such a member save himself some time by using relevant portions of my tree's data base?
