My registration email adres on the web is the same as my registration email for FTB BUT I still cannot use the Premium features in FTB.
What you don't seem to understand is that I have the same email on the web site and the exact same email in the windows version of FTB but I am unable to use the Premium features on the windows version of FTB.
The web site states that it is a Premium subscription BUT I cannot use these features in the windows version of FTB.
I exported my tree as a gedcom file and then modified it online on Ancestry.co.uk. When I downloaded it back onto my PC and viewed it in Family Tree Builder there were no photographs in it. How do I get my photos back without going through the labourious task of selecting each and every one again?
we are trying to find an appropriate chart (with pictures of individuals) to print for our grandmothers birthday. The chart consists of 4 generations, as follows: 1 generation: 2 people, generation2: 4 people, generation 3: 31 people, generation 4 over 50 people. The poster size is comming out really long 16 inches in hight and over 100 inches in length. Any idea as how to go about changing the format of this chart so that the size is more appropriate for hanging on a wall?
I arrange the chart to fit my p c screen and take a snapshot of that and so on and so on til I have the whole thing, Then I print them out, scan if necessary to make it printable then print the pages. Then I put the together with tape and cut to fit and it's not perfect, but it gets the point across.
I doubt it. I think there may be ways to change stuff around, but I think they are just cosmetic. I want to print a poster of mine. The only options are direct ancestors or the whole tree. I want at least to have some of the cousins, so they have me stuck there. I will probablly get enough money eventually. The whole thing will be almost 20X5 feet and way about 40 pounds. The price including shipping is nearly $1000 for the cheapest unlaminated paper.
Hi all, new to this and was trying to enter details of my partners children from a previous relationship, however i keep appearing on their details as their father. anyone got any idea how to get around this as i cant seem to find a solution. any help would be great. thank you.
I suggest that you create a record of another "unknown" partner of your partner. In this way, your partner will have two partners, and then you can change the association of your partner's children to either children of that earlier relationship, or even as children of your partner alone. In the latter case, you can then delete the record of the unknown partner again, and the children should not revert to being shown as your own children.
I have just wasted nearly three hours of my time trying to clear the smart matches on my site. There are far too many matches of only one or two names. A screening process should be used to omit ALL matches that have less than an 80% chance of being confirmed. I was severly tempted to dump my myheritage site and find another one that allowed me to delete smart matches quickly and did not waste my time
Something is awry with MyHeritage's welcoming screen for invited new members that is inducing them to create new sites and trees, rather than join the site I'm inviting them to. I've had this happen 3 times already with people of varying computer skills. They end up creating a new site all by themselves, never seem to find the way to switch back to the site I invited them to, and end up giving up in frustration.
I suspect this has to do with how MyHeritage handles email logins. For instance, I invite John with one of his emails that I know. He receives the email, but when asked for his email address at the website, he enters another one that he uses more often. MyHeritage then fails to recognise that this John is the same John I invited.
This is just a hunch, but one thing I'm pretty sure about is that MyHeritage's interface is far too complex for the average middle-aged user (to whom it should appeal most). Just on the home page, there are 4 sets of menus at the top, and long lists of shortcuts left, right and centre of the page. It's an engineer's pipe dream, and a designer's nightmare. I suggest you streamline that, or at least give the option to admins to choose what to show so as to help MyHeritage penetrate their families.
I have fought with that issue also. The problem is that the invitation message doesn't tell the new members how to get onto your website. It only stores a cookie on their computer that will give them access to your website if and when they logon to it. After accepting your invitation, the new members don't know how to get to the website, i.e., they go in through the main portal of MyHeritage ... which guides them through registration and how to create a first 3-person tree.
I made it meanwhile a policy to always double up the invitation by a personal email message that I send to the new members directly, telling them about the invitation, and guiding them through the necessary steps of how to accept the invitation and than how to get to my website.
Under “Settings/General” go to “Site” tab and there you have the option to “Pick a unique address for your site”. You can send this information to your site members and they can save it in their favourites. It would be nice if this information could be in the invitation message. Then they could save it in their favourites.
