Hi. If you see the post about a child born out of wedlock then that should answer your question. You set the relationship as 'unknown' in the bottom dropdown box instead of 'married'
My Problem is that a child was born to a mother by an unknown man.
She then a couple of years later married another man and then had children by him also.
The first child does not belong to the second man.
The Family Tree gives a false impression that the first child belongs to the second man.
The other thing that I cant figure ou is how to add a second man to the relationship of the mother.
First off, create a relationship by adding spouse, but list him as unknown, and in marriage status field, list as unknown. Then add the child of this relationship. you can make the child's surname as unknown or your own maiden name surname.
2nd relationship - Right click anywhere on the female's card, the click Spouses ---> click add spouse---> then click yes on the alert window. Now add the name of the second male, and in the staus field, list as married, now add the child of this relationship. On the second child's card there will be a Half Sibling with the first child's name, and surname as unknown or your maiden surname. On the first child's card there will be a Half Sibling with the second child's name, with the second partners surname (if you wish to have it that way).
It would be nice to have a middle name field. Geni.com has that field. They allow searches by middle name also which helps narrow down your search.
I would also like a AKA (As Known As) or "Display Name" field. It would default to how MyHeritage.com currently shows names. However, when people have names "first, middle, family, nickname", different people would like their name displayed differently like:
In Family Tree Builder, when you are editing a person's card, you will see the option more names, and there you will see the nickname, and alias options.

Of course I've seen "Nickname", "Alias", and "Regilious Name". But they are not used as the "Display Name".
For example, if the person has a first-middle-surname as F-M-S and a nickname as N, you would enter "M-F" as the first name (this is the format in Chinese) in MyHeritage, and "S" as the last name and "N" as the nickname. MyHeritage shows the name as M-F-S. I want the name to show up as N-S. I also want N-S to be searchable. Therefore if you had a "Display Name" field, I could enter "N-S" and that's what you would display in all name cards, charts, etc.
Using family tree builder you could delete all people from the tree you want to end that also appear in the other tree. Then export a gedcom of the tree you want to delete. Then import that gedcom in your other tree. Then you'll probably have to create links between people from the gedcom and the real tree.
I can't add anyone to my family tree as i discover more information. Can anyone help - the instructions tell me that each family member has an add/edit symbol - not on mine though. THanks Peter
You have nothing in the lower left corner of the person's name card below the place for a picture? Did you start out the tree on the stand alone Family Tree builder and then import it into the online version? I know that you can't make changes if you've done it offline, but I have never done that so I don't know what it looks like.

If you are referring to the online tree:
The children are ordered by date of birth automatically. There is nothing that you need to change. If you still see a problem , please let me know which people are not ordered and I will investigate this.
If you are referring to the FTB tree:
The children should be ordered automatically as well, but in case they aren't you can fix this as described in this help page:
How do I stop postings that show they come from my deceased brother? I removed him from both members list and 'invited list, plus entered date of death on family tree, but nothing works.
He and his wife had the same email and I've been trying to invite her to join under her name, but the 'family news' on the home pagealways says I've invited my deceased brother. Any postings she makes also say they come from him. Please, can somebody help??!!!!
