Hello all, I wish to purchase the version which allows unlimited members of the family tree. I do not wish to publish on the website but retain within my own computer for personal research and study. How do I go about this, as the version which I would like either you purchase 2,3,4 years or a monthly subscription. do not wish to have a cyber presence with this tree. Is there a one off payment for the software and any enhancements/bug releases?
There are people from different countries and cities in my family tree, but there are only a couple of places shown in the section "Family Stats" - "Places". I added towns and countries to many profiles as "Contact information" - "Current address," but that hasn't changed anything. Where should I enter the locations so that they show up in Places?
(PS: Under this post, I see my location listed as Moscow, Russia. I don't understand why it's there, my profile page is correct saying it's Belgium)
Is there proper notation for specifying certain date modifiers, like circa, before, after? For example do "c." or "ca." or "bef" convey the same information to the software as "circa" or "before"? Or does it even take modifiers into account? I'm thinking mainly in relation to smart matching, though there could be more places.
Please note, that you can add notation about different date modifiers to individuals in your family tree.
You can do so by entering your family site > family tree > open profile of any individual in your family tree, by finding his profile card in the tree > "view profile" > click on the "edit profile" link > my essentials > before the birth entering space, you can choose any of the date modifiers > save.
Adobe Flash uses something called "Local Storage" to run different components.
You may be aware that some websites work together with your browser to store small amounts of data, called cookies, on your computer for their own use in the future. For example, when you go to a website regularly, it may welcome you by name; your name is probably stored in a cookie, and you can use browser options to determine whether you want cookies or not. You may also have specified in your browser that pages you visit can take up only a certain amount of disk space.
When SWF or FLV content is being played, the settings you select for Flash Player are used in place of options you may have set in your browser. That is, even if you have specified in your browser settings that you do not want cookies placed on your computer, you may be asked if an application that runs in Flash Player can store information. This happens because the information stored by Flash Player is not the same as a cookie; it is used only by the application that runs in Flash Player, and has no relation to any other Internet privacy or security settings you may have set in your browser.
I have one 1st cousin whose anniveraary shows up on the events page and another 1st cousin whose anniversary does not. What could cause this? Both their birthdays show up on the events page so the program does recognize them.
