My Great Grandfather was Jules Aguillard from Eunice, La.  But his wife, was NOT my Great Grandmother.  He had a child (my mom's mother) with Great Grandmother but for what ever reason, he did not marry her.  He married hs wife a few month before my Grandmother was born.  She was raised by her mom's brother and his wife. He DID claim her as his daughter and somehow she had his last name. She knew her sisters from his marriage and my Mom did meet him a couple of times.  What I do know about his family from my research is that they lived in La for almost 100 years before he was born.  Before LA they came from Cuba and before Cuba they iived in the Canary Islands.  There is quiet a bit of into on the internet about his ancestry.  I wish I could find descendents from his children.  You are the first.  If you have any pic's of him I would LOVE to see them.  I would send you a pic of my Grandmother.  She does not look like her mom at all.  She looks more spanish.  I hope she looks more like Jules.  My Mom looks very spanish and so do I.

Grandfather is Jules Aguillard (Eunice, La.) Grandmother Tesia Fontenot around Eunice or surrounding area. Mother Alice Or Listee Aguillard Fontenot around Eunice, La. Or surrounding area.

I would like further info on these people especially the Aguillards who came to Eunice in the 1800's as far as I know. Father is Avie Fontenot born in 1898 his sister Ava Fontenot born in the same time period. Too many Fontenots to count. I heard about Jacobs in the mix but I dont understand that part.

Looking for information on the Young/Lejeune families of Louisiana. In particular I am looking for information on Joseph Treville Lejeune Young. He had a son by the name of Brigham Joesph Young. He married Emily Ashworth. I am told he is from St. Landry's parish.

Wonder if anyone has historical information on the old Lenwil Sawmill, Lenwil Dry Kilns, and the Railroad that served them back in the early 1900s?  That would be in the Lenwil area of West Monroe in Ouachita Parish.

Thanks for the grouping of family names by French, Acadian or other ancestry.  It's helpful.  I am a "mixed race" person whose ancestors are the French, African and Acadians, with a couple of Native Canadians and Native Americans also.  I've have just started looking around the site to see its potential to assist me in locating information about some ancestors that seem to be "hiding."  They are Josine Douamelle, Marie Celeste Lamotte, Mr. Rougeau (liaison with Josine) from Mobile and Nicolas Lamotte from St. Domingue.
