Wonder if anyone has historical information on the old Lenwil Sawmill, Lenwil Dry Kilns, and the Railroad that served them back in the early 1900s?  That would be in the Lenwil area of West Monroe in Ouachita Parish.

Thanks for the grouping of family names by French, Acadian or other ancestry.  It's helpful.  I am a "mixed race" person whose ancestors are the French, African and Acadians, with a couple of Native Canadians and Native Americans also.  I've have just started looking around the site to see its potential to assist me in locating information about some ancestors that seem to be "hiding."  They are Josine Douamelle, Marie Celeste Lamotte, Mr. Rougeau (liaison with Josine) from Mobile and Nicolas Lamotte from St. Domingue.

I suppose I'll be the first to sign my own guestbook.  If you're passing through the website, please say hello and take the time to sign the book.

Sincerely,
