Genealogy:17 Generations
Posted by: Matthew Walker on Oct 30 2012 18:20
Ki ora whanau, I have managed to trace our whakapapa as direct descendants back to Ruataupare, Porourangi and even further to Paikea. upto Pororangi is 18 generations , then 22 generations to Paikea. Our connection to them stems from Paternal great grandmother Te Muriwai Akenehi Manuel (nee Tamitere) she was married to Mapuka Manuel born 1853 hense our connection to Jose Manuel and the greater Paniora Family. Also we are direct descendants Maternal to another famous chief Iharaira Te Houkamau 8th Generation thru our great(3) grand Mother Iritana Parapara (nee: Houkamau)
