LAKELAND - Our precious mother, formerly of Shelbyville, MO and a resident of Lakeland, Florida for the past 22 years went home to heaven after a short illness. Her will to live was strong but her body was tired. During a special time where all her children were present her family reassured her that they would be okay when her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carried her to her heavenly home where she will receive a new body. She died on February 1, 2008 of heart failure.
Thank you Lord for giving us a mother who had such a Godly influence on our life.
She was loved and will be dearly missed by her children Jim (Susan) of Lakeland, Charles (Colleen), Kalamazoo, MI, Byron (Peggy) of Winter Haven, Wanda (Lysle) Crosson of Eddyville, Iowa; sister, Ina Claire Salatto of Long Island, NY; sister in law, Louverne Claussen Stephens of Lakeland; fourteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was born in Shelbina, MO March 10, 1916. She was preceded in death by Elmer, her husband of 52 years, and her sister Ruby Haden.
There will be a "Candlelight Memorial Service" on Tuesday, Feb. 5. 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Light & Life Free Methodist Church, 5802 Deeson Rd, Lakeland, FL. Followed by a reception for family and friends.
Then, on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 there will be a visitation at 1:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Chapel at Shelbina, MO. Burial in Bacon Chapel Cemetery near Lentner, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to The Gideon's or Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.
