John Louis Akard commented on person Sarah Shoemaker (born Wall) :
Here's another book you may want to peruse.

https://archive.org/stream/genealogyofshoem00shoe#page/32/mode/2up

It comes with an index in the back and the same search engine the Levering book had.
John Louis Akard commented on person Sarah Omensetter (born Levering) :

John Louis Akard commented on person David Omensetter :
 Check out URL

http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=107809414

This David had a wife named Catherine Tibben and a daughter named Elizabeth. There are dates and links to both.
John Louis Akard commented on person George Omensetter :
Look to Find a Grave memorial at URL

http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=omensetter&GSfn=george&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=38832767&df=all&

This is the one for this George. It has a photo of this stone. While there, on the left of the memorial, under the ACTION sign, Click on "Find all Omensetters in Leverington Cemetery". There are 19 people with Omensetter in their names with memorials you can see. Sometimes the Memorial Biography list others that don't yet have a memorial.
John Louis Akard commented on person George Omensetter :
In Roxborough, Philadelphia Co., PA, is a cemetery called Leverington. There are reportedly, 13,000 internments there. Most don't have markers as thy are the small children that died very young. Quite a few families have erected memorial stones for those that the Roxborough Baptist church records say are buried there. A very large stone, about 3 x 3 x 8 feet tall, has the following inscription.

George Omensetter 1798-1861
Sarah Omensetter 1797-1869
Charles L. Omensetter 1837-1868
George W. Omensetter 1834-1891
Catherine Omensetter 1822-1919
Sanford Omensetter 1833-1914

While this isn't proof positive, I think it give a date of birth to the first George.

Cheryl Riley commented on person Henry Leech :
My great-great grandfather. Born 25 Jan 1829, died either 21 or 22 Sep 1910 in Fernwood, Delaware County, PA. A blacksmith by trade with the firm of Leech and Rively (William Henry Rively, a cousin). The and his wife, Dorothea Ann (aka Theresa) Alburger had 10 children, of whom only 6 survived to adulthood. The youngest surviving child was Hampton Jackson Leech, Sr (original middle name was Weiss, but was changed--have not determined why). He was my great-grandfather and owned a florist shop in Yeadon most of his adult life.

John Louis Akard commented on person Lawrason Levering :
Lawrason was listed in the 1860 and 1880 census as being president of a rope and bag co. His wife and sister-in-law were in both censuses. They had different servants though. In 1880 he had a coachman and a cook.
John Louis Akard commented on person Ann Lawrason Levering :
In the 1860 Census of St. Louis, there is a listing for Lawrason and Brianna Levering. Listed with them are Frederick and Anna Churchill, Kate Levering, Sarah Spain and 5 servants. Other sites claim Ann or Anna was Lawrason's daughter. Lawrason claimer 75,000 in personal worth and 100,000 in real estate. The 5 houses on this sheet were worth 590,000. Not a bad neighborhood, what!
