My name is Erin Marie Fleming and I started this site. My father was William Alan Fleming, my grandfather was William Alexander Fleming, my great-grandparents were John Fleming & Agnes Gair, and my great-great-grandparents were Alexander Gair & Mary Sturrock. Some of you may remember, more clearly than I, the Gair Family reunions in Canada in 1970s, and the printed family trees that were generated and updated in honor of - or inspired by - these events. The first pamphlet was compiled in 1970 by Margaret Gair McLaren of Brantford, Canada and has become known affectionately as the Blue Book, in reference to the color of its cover. Margaret 's daughter, Ann McLaren Vaughan, printed and circulated the Blue Book in 1982 and 2008. The most recent version includes updates made possible via countless e-mails back and forth between Ann and the rest of us scattered around the globe. God Bless the Internet. And God Bless Ann, her mother, and all who helped and contributed information for these Family Trees. I've entered in the content of the 2008 Blue Book into this site. MEMBERSHIP: You can click the link to the left to become a member of myheritage.com for free, then you request membership in our family site. EDITING: Members can edit this site online. Look in the upper right hand corner of the family tree screen, and find the drop down menu with two options, Gair Family Blue Book and Gair Family Editing Mode.(sometimes only one option is available because I'm downloading - that's ok) Choose EDITING MODE. Find the record (person) you want to edit, and hover your mouse over the picture in the tree (or square) - you should see a pencil icon. Click it to edit. You can also edit from their profile which appears to the left when you click on them in the tree. Your changes won't be seen in the other mode until I download and publish them, which I'll do every few days. PHOTOS: Some photos might have disappeared from the tree in my recent updates. Be sure to TAG them (look under Photos & Videos Menu), and that will make it easier to save them. You can add captions too. Or just e-mail them to me.
