I am Nicolas Stephanou (Laki) and I thought that it would be a good idea to share this online family tree. The present interface provided by MyHeritage.com seems to be convenient, not to consider a main dysfunction which attaches adopted persons (we have at least 2 in our family) only to their natural parents, with no link whatsoever in the displayed trees to the adoptive parents. Significantly a family tree is being build from many sources and out of scattered information. And this information can be easily exported to database formats to be kept or displayed as wished. Anyone who has more information to add to our tree is kindly requested to send it to me, whether it is more facts concerning persons already entered in the tree or new persons or branches to add to the tree. To make our tree more resourceful, you might want to complete at least your birthday date and your address and upload a personal photo. When your enter a full birthday date, your birthday will be listed in the events and in the periodical newsletter. Note that personal profiles can be edited by yourselves when you are logged-in with your personal login. If you still don't have one, send me your email address and you will get it. When you login you have access to all the site's content and you can also add photos to the gallery and create new albums. Moreover you can invite more family members to join the site. To do that, enter an email address in the "Invite close family" module on the left or chose "Invite more family" on the top menu. The family member will receive a login to join the site. Also don't hesitate to comment on peoples' profiles or images and visit the Activities section to publish your own content. Now if you don't want some or all of your personal data to display in the tree, contact me and I will remove it. To contact me, please click here. The sources for our familly tree are, in chronological order: - my memory - notes from Hans Bellos - the memory of Sophoula Carapiperi - contribution from Evangelos J. Stephanou - contribution from Loukia Carapiperi - a genealogic work done by Elisabeth Papastephanou (mostly around the Kamitsis and Poulakis families) - the private notebooks once maintained by Georges N. Stephanou and compiled by his son Evangelos Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 528 names in our family tree. The earliest event is the birth of Kyriakos Stephanou
(1765). The most recent event is the death of Despina Chatzizacharia (born Stephanou)
(Nov 2009).
The site was last updated on Mar 11 2010, and it currently has 89 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here. Also don't hesitate to create your own email address name@stephanou.com If you already have a stephanou.com address, you can login to your account from here
Enjoy!
