June, I'm reading the family tree that my Aunt Mary wrote down for me. My Aunt Ada, Mary's sister, was name after your Grandmother. She has it as Lovada J Crump born 4/28/1878. I think you have it right . Lynda
Charles Henry Gray was my Grandfather. His first marriage was to Julie Debo in 1887. Julie died in 1888 after the birth of their daughter, Ora Bell. Charles married my Grandmother, Ada Crump, in 1900. They had three children.
None of us had ever heard any other name for Ada. However, it seems that her name may have actually been Lovada or Loyada. This is accordng to some old, handwritten family notes. Ada was my Grandmother and a dream of a Grandmother too. Never scolded, always let me have anything I wanted that wouldn't kill me, fixed fabulous lunches & snacks for hungry grandkids. And, I was the only one she had. No competition. When I know for sure about her name, I will post it.

There is much controversy on William V's birth date. By using other family records & figuring in his first marriage, 1835 seems to be the best choice for him.
