Mnsg. Aberle was pastor of St Joseph Catholic Church in Dickinson, North Dakota for many years. He walked daily and walked past our family farm, frequently. On the way home, one sunny afternoon, my pet deer followed him. The following morning my mother answered the phone to hear a very upset priest lamenting over the flowers that our deer ate in his newly landscaped garden.
He had wonderful stories to tell and wrote several books about the many German families who came from Russia to the Dakota's.
