Our grandson, John Borland, is almost at the end of his Cricket tour to England. He toured with his school team from Christ College, Christchurch. He had one game in Singapore, two games in France, & 13 games in England. His mother & father, Gina & Andy, & younger brother Sam, toured as supporters. It has been a welcome break from their shaky City. We are going to visit soon to hear all about their holiday. Well done, John. Love, Loma & Greg.
Andrew (Chip) Dellabarca finished 4th in the world in the Standard Master Division at the 2012 Laser World Masters Championships at the Royal Queensland Yacht Club, March 17th, 2012.
The previous week he was placed 4th in the Australian Masters Laser Nationals, March 7th, 2012.
Emma has been dancing this week at the Wearable Arts ("WOW"). We saw her on stage last night & she was wonderful. She is watched by an audience of thousands every night. Congratulations Emma! Well done!
Sadly, today we lost a dear family member, Roy Zimitat, who passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning. Our sincere condolences to Robyn, Craig, Brock, Natalie & James.
After several days of racing, Andrew Dellabarca did very well in coming 10th in the world with his yachting in England (actually 9th equal). We are all very proud of his success!
The family in Christchurch are all safe after Saturday's major earthquake. The children have been given at least a week off school, the aftershocks continue, and continue to be felt here in Wellington and in Hawkes Bay.
Andrew and Paula with daughter Katrina are at this moment in transit to the UK for the Apprentice Masters World Championships in Laser Yachting. The race series is in Hayling, England. Andrew (Chip) has been out on Wellington Harbour virtually every day throughout winter practicing for these Championships. Go, Chip!!! They will be away all of September.
We are very proud to announce that Gina has been nominated & selected for the Global Women's Leadership Program. After a rigorous process she is now in the Final 16 in New Zealand, and will go to a function in Auckland being opened by former PM, Jenny Shipley. Watch this space.
