Bessie's parents were - Thomas Dixon Galpin - born 15 Nov 1828; died 25 Apr 1910 in Paddington, England. Emma Amelia Pare - born 1831; died 1897

Bessie was the youngest of 13 children.

Bessie's dad Thomas was a man of great wealth and influence - he was co-owner of the mightly Cassell, Petter & Galpin publishing company. It seems he took the family out to Canada after he retired - there's a website dedicated to the Gang Ranch which he bought under the title of Western Canadian Ranching Company. However, he went home to London and died in 1910.

This photo is of Charlotte Eliza Galpin, who is Bessie's Aunty.
