Marvin Hicks passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009.
Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine. Burial: Minters Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Hicks' memory to Paradise Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Paradise, Texas 76073.
Mr. Hicks worked for many years as a tollway attendant with the Texas Turnpike Authority. He was a longtime resident of Euless and Grapevine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell.
Survivors: Sons, Gene Hicks and wife, Ruth, Jeff Hicks and wife, Debbie, Jay Hicks and wife, Johanna; daughters, Kay Stephens and husband, Michael, Joyce Kimbro and husband, Tony; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nell Jean Hicks
1926 - 2008
Nell Hicks, 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Euless. Interment: Nell will be laid to rest in Minters Chapel Cemetery.
Nell was a graduate of Grapevine High School and lived in the Grapevine and Euless areas most of her life. She served on several Euless city boards and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Euless. She was a descendant of a family in the Minters Chapel area, which is now part of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
Survivors: Her husband of 64 years, Marvin C. Hicks; sons, Gene and his wife, Ruth, Jeff and his wife, Debbie, and Jay and his wife, Johanna; daughters, Kay Stephens and her husband, Michael, and Joyce Kimbro and her husband, Tony; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bill R. Cameron
Cameron, Bill R. Passed away peacefully on December 6, 2008, at his home in Rockwall, TX, at the age of 82. He was born May 3, 1926, in Commerce, TX, to Noah and Kate Cameron. Bill served his country in the Navy during WWII. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce and began his career teaching in Edinberg ISD, later serving as Rockwall Elementary School Principal. He worked for Kraft Foods in Garland, TX before returning to Rockwall to spend the next 44 years. Bill was very active in Lake Pointe Church, The Gideons International, Men's Tuesday Morning Prayer Group and was a stalwart resident of the community. Bill and Ida Jo started business in Rockwall in 1964 opening Cameron Insurance and Real Estate. They were later joined in business by his brother Raymond Cameron to form The Cameron Company, Real Estate and Development. Bill and Raymond are responsible for numerous developments in the Rockwall area including Ridge Road Shopping Center, The Cameron Building and numerous residential developments. Bill is survived by his wife: Ida Jo Cameron; son: Don Cameron and wife Becky; daughter: Suzanne Mosley and husband Dan; brother: Raymond Cameron and wife Elizabeth, June Cameron and former daughter-in-law, Michele Musser; grandchildren: Rob, Jacob, Jennifer, Chris, Jenni, Katie, Emily and Taylor; great grandchildren: Hannah, Zebulun, Sarah, Elianna, A.J., Max, Maddie, Cody, Liberty and MacKelvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Rex, brother James, nephew Ronny and grandson Kirk. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Lake Point Church with Dr. Aubrey Patterson and Pastor Steve Stroope officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the chapel at Lake Point Church on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 2046, Rockwall, TX 75087-4446.

Florence Marie Huffman - From Greenville Herald Banner

COMMERCE — Florence Marie Huffman of Commerce passed peacefully from this life to be with loved ones in her heavenly home on Oct. 12, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce.

Marie and husband George owned and operated a small dairy farm and were owners of Huffman Farm Supply in Commerce until his death in 1997. One of their passions was supporting local children who were active in 4-H and FFA at the Hunt County Fair. This tradition is being carried on by son David and daughter-in-law Luann who currently own “the feed store.”

Marie also was the longtime owner/operator of the Trailways Bus Station and Commerce Cab located on the premises of the feed store. She delivered Meals on Wheels and assisted with Toys for Tots and the Word of Life food distribution.
