On a beautiful sunny afternoon this week the Rutherford/Gibson families and friends remembered and said goodby to James Elwood Rutherford Sr. The military service was honoring and very touching. The grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in the service showing the special love they have for Papa. Pray for their families that they may have comfort and strength. I hope to post his obituary here on our family site this week.
Wyatt Neil Lundeen was born this past week to Victoria and Travis. Although three weeks early, he came into the world Feb. 17, 2010 at 1:33am weighing 6lb 3oz. and 21 inches long. As of today he is still in the hospital. Vic is faithfully going to the hospital to nurse him, trying to bulk him up so he can come home. Keep little Wyatt and His Mommy and Daddy in your prayers.
Our family is blessed to announce the arrival of Nickson George Deratany born January 26, 2010 at Tucson Medical Center at 9:19 pm . He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long.
Best Wishes to Nicholas and Jessica on their recent wedding. Dale, Pam, Jennifer, John, and their three children went down to Tucson 2 day ahead to help with the wedding activities. Everyone pitched in and helped Nick and Jess do their last minute prep and enjoyed the rehearsal and dinner afterwards. It was an honor to meet our new family members and gettto know them better. The wedding went off smoothly and they were so happy to have Oma and the Grandmother from Jessie’s side in attendance. We missed some members of the family but grateful for those who journeyed from as faraway as Mass, Missouri, California, and New Mexico. The newly wed couple is honeymooning in Cancun, resting and relaxing on the beach. We ask God to bless them and we welcome our new daughter to our family.
Every once in a while I get this strong desire to be planning a family reunion. Then better judgment over rules and I put the thought away for another day. If anyone else has this desire, share your thoughts with me and we will see if there are others that are interested. Some of us get together regularly and have so much fun that we would like to enjoy these times with all our family. Think about it.
Please keep Catherine (our niece, Lynne & Ray's daughter), in your prayers. She and her husband Steven are expecting a baby and her water broke at 30 weeks. They have rushed her to St. Josephes in Phx. Will find out if they will be needing any help since they are from Flagstaff and are away from home.
Good news in our family, Nicholas just got a job and will be starting the end of the Month. Yea!!!! And they are working hard to plan their wedding in October.
