My name is Ari and I have begun to track the family history of the Karps, Saxes, Ruders, Weinsteins, Rosens, Courshons, Provizers, Glasses and more.
At last count there are 1,256 people in this tree.
If you have any information, please update it for me. I can make you a webmaster, just ask! I am holding the torch on the Karp/Saxe side of the family, and so far Juliet has managed the Saxe/Ruder side of the family.
I am getting my research from family members, this site, and Ancestry.com.

When we think about "Russia" we really are thinking about an ever-shifting landscape throughout history, and as such, this is a very broad term. Regarding just the city of Vilnius, Lithuania alone, it has many different names, spellings and is known as part of Russia, Prussia, Lithuania, USSR... it all depends on when we need to focus.
For the Saxes, our focus is around 1887 when Joseph Saxe came here.
For the Provizers, about 1890...
For the Glasses, of Germany, about 1890 when Maurice Glass came here.
For the Rosens... I don't know.
For the Weinsteins... about 1890 when Isaac's family came here.
