on Mar 4 2010 17:29 | Linda G. STERNS  STERNS Linda G. Linda G. Sterns, 62, of Lambertville, Michigan, died at home surrounded by her family February 26, 2010, following a battle with cancer. Linda was born May 25, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to James and Margaret (Smith) Graber. She attended St. Clement School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965. Linda married Timothy Sterns in 1980. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1973 with a bachelor degree in English and earned her Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo in 1995. Linda taught third grade at Ladyfield School from 1989 to 2000, and was an instructor at Monroe Community College and Owens Community College from 2001 to 2007. She volunteered her time helping adults learning to read as part of Toledo's Read For Literacy Program. She was a mentor and hostess for foreign exchange students, welcoming them warmly into her home and family. Linda enjoyed ten years of volunteer service, by her husband's side, with his work at Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. She was recognized in 2007 as their Volunteer of the Year. Linda is survived by her husband, Timothy; son, Brian (Allison); daughter, Kathleen; mother, Margaret Graber; sister, Peg Graber, and five grandchildren, Ellen, Molly, Kathryn, Jacob, and William. She was preceded in death by her father, James, and sister, Mary (Graber) Coppens. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova Road, Monclova, Ohio 43542. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to either Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, or Monclova Road Baptist Church in her name. on Jan 6 2010 07:32 | Obit for Robert Boehme (Brother of Dick (Lola) Boehme) BOEHME Chief Robert A. ret. Our Dad was a great man. First and foremost he was always the protector and peacemaker. As a young man Dad lettered every year in baseball, football, and basketball at Bedford High School. Bedford honored Dad years later by inducting him into their hall of fame, calling him one of the "Greatest Athletes" to ever attend the school. After High School, Dad joined the United States Marine Corps, where he pitched for the Marine Corps baseball team. After the Marine Corps Dad became a Toledo Police Officer where he served ten years as a patrol officer and detective. Dad then began the Deputy Lucas County Sheriff, until he founded the Sylvania Township Police Department in 1968. Our Dad designed the uniforms, badges, and the vision of the department. Today "peace is our profession" remains as the fundamental statement behind the department. Randy and Robert Boehme Jr. Robert A. Boehme, 76, a longtime resident of Sylvania Township, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Bob retired as Chief of the Sylvania Township Police Department in 1987. He was proud to have been one of the founding members of Crime Stoppers. Bob was a member of the National Chiefs of Police, the Marine Corp League, the Masonic Lodge, Zenobia Shrine, Scottish Rite, the Jesters, the Arab Patrol, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 55 years, Evelyn Boehme; sons, Robert Jr. and Randy (Susan) Boehme; grandchildren, Kelsey, Connor, Benjamin, and Madison; brothers, Richard (Lola) and Ronald (Donna) Boehme. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Edna (Shannon) Boehme. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Thursday, January 7th from 4 - 8 p.m., where the Marine Corps League will conduct services at 7 p.m. Bob's life will be celebrated at the Olivet Lutheran Church Friday at 11 a.m., where friends are invited to gather one-hour prior. Chief Boehme will be laid to rest, with Military Honors, at Toledo Memorial Park. Those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. on Oct 26 2009 06:53 |  Obit for Sharon Jagodzinski: Mother-in-law of Troy Stevenson JAGODZINSKI Sharon B. (Bojarski) Sharon B. Jagodzinski, 61, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. She was born on May 12, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Genevieve Bojarski. She worked for the City of Toledo for over 34 years, holding positions with the Toledo Police Department, Engineering Department and retired in March 2001 as a Supervisor with the Department of Public Utilities. Sharon loved her family especially her five grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, playing Bingo and running around to all the grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving are her loving husband of 42 years, John; daughters, Amy (Chris) Kerchevall and Julie (Troy) Stevenson; grandchildren, Kaylee and Nicholas Kerchevall and Nathan, Tyler and Dillon Stevenson; sister, Kathy (Bill) Perry; sisters-in-law, Carol (Jim, deceased) Jagodzinski, Pat (Richard) Fitzenreiter, Marilyn (David, deceased) Roth, Nancy (Tom) Smolinski and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by special friends, Kate and Jerry Callahan (Toledo, OH) and Pete and Pauline Kramer (Margate, FL). She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Bojarski; and in-laws, Stephen and Mildred Jagodzinski. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Toledo Hospital Neuro Intensive Care Unit for all of their compassionate care and support. Christine Marie Brazeau died Thursday August 6th at Green Springs Rehabilitation
Center in Clyde, Ohio. She was 43 years old.
She was the daughter of Michael & Linda (Stasiak) Brazeau (Connie’s sister) who were very devoted to her. Some of you may remember that Christine was severely injured in auto accident at age 16 and has been in the rehabilitation center for the past 27 years.
Here are the details that we know at the present time:
Christine will be cremated. There will be a memorial Mass for her at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. We will keep you posted if we receive any more information. Please keep Linda and her family in your prayers. Gene Stock

on Mar 30 2009 03:38 | March 27, 2009: Ardath E. Oberlin, age 84, of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Windhaven Terrace in Temperance MI. She was born on January 28, 1925 in Waldron, MI, the daughter of Butler and Coral (Baker) Terrill. On May 7, 1943 she was married to Frederick Oberlin.
Ardath was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Tecumseh where she was the organist for 40 years and was a member of P.E.O. She was a homemaker and taught organ and piano lessons for many years. Ardath was a member of the Tecumseh Music Club and Orchestra and enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling. In addition to her husband, Ardath is survived by two sons, John Oberlin of Elsie, MI and Jim ( Nancy) Oberlin of Britton, MI; one daughter, Linda (Gene) Stock of Temperance, MI; two grandchildren, Chad (Jessica) Stock and Kevin Stock; and two great-grandchildren, Makenzie Stock and Cade Stock. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Ardath was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 West Chicago Blvd., Tecumseh, Michigan with Rev. Richard Mortimer officiating. Following cremation, inurnment will take place in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church Choir, Tecumseh, Michigan. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com. | |
