on July 11 2009 10:10 | NORTHFIELD - Marilyn Paye Wheeler, 70, of Hockman Hill Road, died on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Peacham, June 10, 1939, a daughter of Kenneth E. and Margaret (Muzzey) Paye Sr. Marilyn graduated from McIndoe Falls Academy and Goddard College. She married Richard C. Wheeler on Jan. 1, 1981. She formerly worked for various organizations that benefited people in need. Marilyn enjoyed handiwork, doing different crafts, reading, gardening and extensive traveling throughout the United States. Most important to Marilyn was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was proud to have been a single mother of six children while putting herself through Goddard College and graduating with a major in English and a minor in history. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret (Muzzey) Paye, on Nov. 18, 1979; a stepmother, Madeline (Hale) Paye on Sept. 27, 2004; three brothers, Dennis Paye, Leonard Paye and Kenneth E. Paye Jr. Survivors include her husband, Richard C. Wheeler of Northfield; her children, Steven W. Nutter and wife Rose of Barre, Stanley A. Nutter of Barre, Kevin Nutter of Barre, Frank W. Nutter of Barre, Donna M. Nutter of Bristol, Conn., and Amy L. Sweeney and husband Timothy of Northfield; five stepchildren; her former son-in-law, Timothy J. Krauss of Bristol, Conn.; her father, Kenneth E. Paye Sr. of Westfield, Mass.; a sister, Edith Paye of Burney, Calif.; a brother, Arnold Paye of Westfield, Mass.; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at the Monroe Village Cemetery, Monroe, N.H. The service will be conducted by Timothy J. Krauss. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Fifth floor, Boston, MA 02210. on Apr 18 2009 10:55 | BARRE - Zachary Sean-Tomas Wheeler, 25, of Barre went to "redneck" heaven Tuesday evening after a year long battle with synovial sarcoma (cancer). He was lovingly surrounded by family and friends. Born August 12, 1983, Zack made the most of his short life, and lived it to the fullest, while touching many lives. He lived by his motto of "Failure is not an Option" never complaining about his illness or asking why. He will be missed by many. Zack was a avid New York Yankees and Jeff Gordon fan, and enjoyed racing at Thunder Road where he was known as the "Redneck Racer" #83. He was also co-coordinator of "Toy Joy" along with his mother Rose, which celebrated its 20th year during Christmas 2008. She weighed 9 lbs 6 ozs and is 23 inches long. Her sister Payton doesn't quite know what to think about all of this. She will be 2 years old on March 18th. | |

He weighed in at 10 lbs. 7 ozs. and is 23 1/4 long with lots of brown hair. Both mother and son are doing fine. For those of you who don't know his parents are they are Amanda & Kraig Lynds. Amanda is our olest daughter's Melissa's girl and this is her second son. |

WATERBURY - David E. Fleury, 43, of Jenny Davis Road, passed away unexpectedly at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin on Saturday evening, Dec. 6, 2008. Born in Montpelier on Oct. 27, 1965, he was the son of Frederick F. and Anne (Wheeler) Fleury. On April 13, 1985, David married Elizabeth Borland in Barre. David was educated at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury and as a young man, worked in the construction field as a carpenter. He later embarked on a career in mechanical insulation and has been employed for the past 10 years by New England Air Systems of Williston. An industrious worker all of his life, David found enjoyment working in the plumbing and heating field. He was a special person who enjoyed many things, like hunting and fishing with his boys, to cutting up deer with his dad or helping his parents with odd jobs around their home, or anyone else who was in need. His quiet times included watching Jeff Gordon race, the Boston Red Sox play, or simply talking with his daughter on the phone for long periods of time. He also spent a lot of time with his sisters and was a devoted and loving father to his children. He has touched many people's lives and will be greatly missed. David is survived by his parents, Fred and Anne Fleury of Waterbury; his children, Nicole Fleury of Barre, David E. Fleury, Jr. of Waterbury, and Cory Fleury of Waterbury; his maternal grandmother, June Wheeler of Holiday Fla.; two sisters, Donna Fleury of So. Burlington, Patty Fleury and her companion, Rupert Erwin of Waterbury Center; a brother, Fred Fleury, Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Graniteville; his former wife, Elizabeth Fleury of Barre; his close friend and cousin, Patrick Fleury of Northfield; his friend and co-worker, Todd Chaffee of Essex; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends he considered family. Memorial services will be held at the Waterbury Congregational Church on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church dining room.
