Asberry Cornelius Graham, 84, of Dewy Rose, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton.
Born in Madison County on June 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Leonard and Kanazadie Drake Graham and was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II, where he served in the 35th Infantry Calvary. Mr. Graham was preceded in death by his wife, Leadie Virginia Smith Graham.
Survivors include sons, Tommy Graham and James Graham, both of Dewy Rose, Alfred Graham, Elberton; daughter, Vonnie Graham Beck, Marietta; brothers, Hubert Graham, Kannapolis, N.C., Will and Jim Graham, both of Comer; sisters, Sallie Scoggins and Odie Belle Vinson, both of Kannapolis, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park in Elberton.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
Willie Thomas Graham, 87, of Comer, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston.
He was born in Elbert County, March 17, 1921, the son of the late Leonard and Kanszadic Drake Graham. He was retired from the University of Georgia and was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.
He is survived by his sons, Ned and Larry Graham, both of Comer; daughters, Carolyn Bellew and Patsy Crowe, both of Comer; brothers, Hubert Graham of Kannapolis, N.C. and Jim Graham of Comer; sisters, Odie Belle Vinson and Sallie Scoggins, both of Kannapolis, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gertrude Coile Graham; and a daughter, Jeanie Graham.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel in Royston with the Rev. James Creason and Mr. Odis Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman.
