My name is Simon Fowler and with Anne we are the Webmasters of the Woods1820 Site.            

We have done a limited amount of research in order to prove a direct ancestoral link for the Woods Family to their Ancestor, Frederick, who arrived in South Africa as an 1820 Settler. This was largely facilitated by the details contained in Donald Woods book "Asking for Trouble" and the Genealogist working with the 1820 Settlers Association, Mr William Jervois. We will be very happy to include any additional detail which anyone can provide, especially event dates and photographs of ancestors and additional children/spouses not known to us!!
