My name is Marc Beaudin , a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of Jean Baudin and Marguerite Coudré; and a great-great-great-great grandson of Joseph Desmarais and Angélique Desanges Prud'homme.

FOX-Lucy B. Fox 3302 Winona, age 55, died October 15, 1941, at the residence. Deceased will be at Martin Bros. Funeral Home, 1300 S. Saginaw St. Funeral arrangements announced later. She had lived in Flint for 21 years. Surviving are: Three sons, Fabian Harvey and Robert Harvey of Flint, Herbert C. of Flushing, daughter, Mrs. Joseph Barone of Detroit; three sisters; two brothers; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Yon -- Arthur Yon, 87, 1710 Woodside avenue, a resident of Bay City for 60 years, died this morning at the Brown nursing home after an illness of eight months. Born in Canada, April 10, 1859, he had been a Bay City blacksmith before retiring several years ago. Surviving are three sons, Alphonse of Houghton Lake, and Leo and Clarence, both of Bay City; one step-son, William Castonguay, of Detroit; one brother, Herman, of Bay City; and nine grandchildren. The body is at the Trahan chapel. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Elaine Gallagher died suddenly at her home on MOnday, December 28, 1987, age 73 years. She was born June 28, 1914 in Bay City, where she had resided most of her life and has lived in Linwood for the past 20 years. Elaine was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Bay City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gallagher in 1967, and her son, Nicholas Gallagher. Surviving are her three children; Joyce Cody of Traverse City, Ralph Gallagher, Jr. of Pinconning, Jerry Gallagher of California; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; and her brother Donald Beaudin of Essexville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Hill will officiate and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 until 9 pm at the W.A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.

Retired Bay City Fireman Passes

Yves P. Beaudin is Heart Attack Victim

Yves Paul Beaudin, recently retired city fireman, died today at Mercy hospital after a protracted illness. The former fireman suffered a severe heart attack late last week and failed to rally.

A native of Bay City, he was born May 15 1890. He was a member of the fire department for 25 years, retiring shortly after the first of this year.

He was a veteran of World War I, a member of Harding-Olk-Craidge post 18, American Legion, the Metropolitan club, and St. Joseph's church.

Surviving are his widow, Edna; two daughters, Miss Edna Mary Beaudin and Mrs. Doris Wirth, of Bay City; three sons, Floyd, Nelson, and Ralph, all of Bay City; three sisters, Mrs. James Monaghan, of Bay City, Mrs. Earl Dion, of Arlington, VA, and Mrs. William King, of Detroit; and a brother, Leo of Bay City.

The body is at Trahan funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.

He resided at 201 Belinda street.

Cameron -- Mrs. Adele Cameron, Bay City native, died Sunday afternoon in General Hospital following a brief illness. She lived at 108 Washington Ave., and was the widow of the late Herman Cameron. Born Feb. 20 1892, in Bay City, she was a member of St. James Church, its Altar Society, St. Anne Society, as well as Ladies Independent Club and Ladies Auxilliary to VFW Post 485. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Gallagher, of Bay City, a son, Donald Beaudin, Bay City; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. William J. Trombley of Essexville, and Mrs. Alma McAllister, of Ferndale. Services will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stapish Chapel and 9 a.m. at St. James Church. The Rev. Fr. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate, and burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at Stapish Funeral Home at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Surviving are his wife, Adele, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Beaudin, one daughter, Mrs. Elaine Gallagher, one son, Donald, three sisters, Mrs. Jane Mahoney, Mrs. Laura King, both of Bay City, and Mrs. Ida Dion, Pontiac, two brothers, Yves, Bay City, and Leo, Detroit. Mr. Beaudin lived in Bay County all his life. He was a grocer and meat dealer in Essexville. He was a member of St. Johns church and the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name society. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

She was a member of St. Joseph's church and of the St. Anne's society. Surviving are her husband, Nelson; two sons, Yves and Leon, Detroit; three daughters, Mrs. James Monaghan and Mrs. William King, of Bay City, and Mrs. Earl Dion, Pontiac; two brothers, Arthur and Herman Yon, Bay City, and one sister, Mrs. Ephraim Bergevin, Bay City; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 o'clock Friday morning at the home and at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church, with a requiem high mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, under the auspices of the St. Anne's society.

Born March 20, 1857, in Quebec, he resided in Bay City for 63 years and was a member of St. Joseph's church and the Holy Name society. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James Monaghan of Bay City, Mrs. Earl Dion of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. William King of Detroit; two sons Yves of Bay City, and Leo of Detroit; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence and at 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Fr. George Parrent will chant requiem high mass, and burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.

A weather beaten headstone lies toppled to the ground, half-covered by thick underbrush.
Field mice scurry over the broken pieces of another tombstone nearby. Small snakes rustle away through matted bushes at the sound of a footstep.
A fallen tree almost hides another headstone, making it difficult to read the one word "Mother", inscribed
on its side. And everywhere hordes of mosquitoes rise from the rank undergrown to challenge the infrequent visitor.

This is indeed a forgotten city of the dead, abandoned over the years by those preoccupied with the problems of the living.
You will find this desolate tract on State street, stretching two blocks between Elm and Smith streets. A low crumbling wall of cement blocks has spilled down in places. Its eastern edge is an almost impenetrable jungle of bushes whose interlacing branches push almost 15 feet...
