As previously announced, I'm trying to put together a brief photo book to capture the 25 year history of the Doughty 500 (so far). I'm going to use the pictures that I've collected over the years and from this site.
If you have other pictures that you think would be interesting to include or have stories, anecdotes, or history to share send it my way. So far I received some photos and history from Brendan and some pictures from Mike.
To ensure that I get this complete and ordered in time for this year's Doughty 500, I want to have everything in place by the end of MAY. So if you want something included, send it to me now.
Feel free to forward this to other family members I may have missed or am no longer on speaking terms with (kidding).
I used $155 of the Doughty 500 fun to extend the membership of this site for another two years. That means that we have $990.57 in the kitty heading into this year's tour.
We have a block of 19 rooms reserved for "Doughty 500." Rates are $76.49 + tax and up, with an assortment of rooms available. Please reserve early; the cut-off date is July 10th. The National Trappers' Association is having their convention in Marshfield at the same time, so rooms are somewhat scarce during this time. If you could not get a room at the Comfort Inn, call after July 10th and see if the "Trappers" made their cutoff for reservations.
Other hotels in the Marshfield area that can handle overflow:
Woodfield Inn 715-387-2233 (walking distance) Baymont Inn 715-384-5240 (1/2 mile) Holiday Inn 715-486-1500 (2 miles)

So far I have received only a dozen completed family survey/information forms. If you filled one out at the Five-Hundred but didn't have a chance to press it into my clammy paws, you could mail it to my attention at:
7200 Glenwood Ave Golden Valley, MN 55427
Or if you didn't have a chance to complete the survey yet, you can get a copy of it Here.
Fill it out and mail it to me or send it via e-mail to:

Here's a few more suggestions for improving the 2009 Doughty 500 courtesy of Brendan:
* There was some questions from the younger generation about having a "keep the thing running" seminar next year. I would be willing to set up a short program--about one hour prior to one of the tours.
I could have "show and tell" components to explain things.
* The auction appeared to be well received again however we should have more advanced notice next year if we have it.
* Start "Happy Hour" assignments earlier.
If you have any additional suggestions, please feel free to add them in the comments.
