I am the g-g-granddaughter of John MacPherson and Margaret Rankin via his son Donald, brother of Alexander's father John. My father is listed on page 784 of Mabou Pioneers (I. John Alexander MacPherson, with my name misspelled as "Alice." (Allene MacPherson Goforth, formerly of the East Bay area of Cape Breton, now living in Idaho)
My great grandmother was Julia Linehan from Callinafersy Killorglin Co Kerry. Married Edmund Hogan circa 1890. Her parents were Cornelius Linehan and Ellen Clifford. Am told that all of this family emigrated to US mainly Boston Mass. No Linehans left in Killorglin today but yes wait for it. While i drew a blank in the famly tree Genealogy centres in Boston, I found after following an unusual visitor- one field mouse- in the excellent library, who led me to rows of telephone directories for Mass. and there I located perhaps too many Linehans each of which I intend writing to in hope.
