My name is Andrea Fisher
and I am the Site manager of this site.
This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and I to create a site for their family and even publish their family tree on the Internet. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me. Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 762 names in our family site. The earliest event is the birth of John Selkirk
(1640). The most recent event is the death of Donna Dean Patterson (Temple)
(Nov 21 2010). The site was last updated on May 18 2012, and it currently has 22 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here.
Enjoy!
UPDATE:April 2009
TO all the new members, the info here is not up to date. I needed to change my account to allow for more names to be added and haven't been able to add too many yet. It is a project for the summer, but will do some a little at a time. I have TONS of papers with names and dates and records...don't see it here, ask and I'll look it up.
If you are going to add new info please let me know what you are adding. Please don't change my info, tell me if I have it wrong and let me update it and make sure it keeps up with my paper files and Ancestry account. I want to be able to count on the info I offer to all of you to be what I have verified. I've made a few mistakes and I want to be sure in the future to minimize the effects of an error.
I have been getting a few notifications of changes and I'm not quickly finding the changes and it's time consuming. Some of you are letting me know and I thank you for doing so, it makes life easier.I thank you for participating in this family tree!
UPDATE 2010 JANUARY
Well, I've renewed the site for another year...there are still some things I'd like to work on here, hopefully I'll find time to confirm and add information in the coming months. I have plans to work on the Scottish Records Office documents that should help confirm dates and names on my family's tree and there are several new resources I've come across on the Fisher side that hopefully will be added in the coming months.
APRIL 2010
BIG NEWS!!!
Looks llike I'm going to get a chance to research a few of my ancestral roots when Mum and I take a trip home to Scotland later this month. She was in a car accident this February and stayed with us for a few weeks as she recovered from her injuries. She then got it into her head she needed to travel home...I really thought she needed company to help her out in traveling, but she resisted...then relented...so I'm hoping that I can track down a few residences take a few photos and a add them to the record here when I get back. I haven't been there since I was eleven...I am looking forward to this....keep us in your prayers! Be in touch once we are back, be sure to watch for photos that get added!
CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS 2010
Hi everyone, hope you are enjoying the season. I jsut wanted to notify everyone that I will probably let my subsccription to this site lapse as it's just out of my budget for this year. I will keep the Ancestry.com iste because of the research resources, but this will have to go. Not sure if they will clear it out or disable some of it that exceeds their ttree limits. When I started this is was great and free, and everyone could see the work and add to it. I'm going to suggest that everyone that is really interestied in the info on here to make sure the info is correct and make yourself a GEDCOM file for your own references. You will find information to fo this on the site and if you have a tree maker software program on your computer you will be able to plug it in to that. Keep in touch and I will continue to add to things on Ancestry and update you on any new info on the family. I do have a few items to add to this site in the next few days...Hope you all have a Blessed Holiday, enjoy your family gatherings!
Happy Anniversary, belated! Glad you filled this info out because 1. I now know Chris' last name, and 2. that you are married...a fact that escaped me until you posted this info...so...it's a belated 20 years worth of best wishes! andrea
p.s. not planning to keep this tree active after a few days because of the cost for the amount of people in it and may do it in separate trees Fisher and Shearer, but if you want you can make a GEDCOM record from the tree here to save in a family tree program you may have on your computer already...will update as I know exactly what I'm going to do.
Well, as I was having lunch with Mum today for my birthday I realized I had missed your birthday. Sorry! Hope you had a nice day. Hannah's friend Heather arrived in Edinburgh Sept 11 and is enjoying herself and seems to be doing well. Having the girls contact info if she needed it made a huge difference for all her jitters before leaving.
Hoping to be updating you on some of what I've found out with all the genealogy stuff since coming home, soon.
Again, happy birthday...just a bit late! love, andrea
ps. purchased a few Scocha CD's like that. Scottish Fiddlers Orchestra good too...does Bill have any more suggestions?
