i may have explained this before. the name leonard in my family came from the fact that my grandfather elisha curtis carey was raised by a john and julia leonard.whren elisha came of age he choose to keep the leonard.there was not an adoption.when elisha's children came of age he let them choose which name they wanted to use.my father choose leonard. elisha had seven children. 4 boys and three girls. for the girls francis,bertha and mary thy kept the leonard. the boys, leon and john choose to use carey. roy and dad choose leonard.
