Eva Mary Green, daughter of Leo and Gladys Green was born on April 6, 1925 in Hollywood, California. She grew up in Burbank, California with her parents and two brothers, Leo and Gene. Eva was united in marriage to Harold A. Roones in November of 1945, at Burbank. The couple farmed cotton near Fresno, California before moving to Milnor, North Dakota in 1967. Harold died in June of 1984. Eva worked at Mary's Cafe in Milnor for 14 years. In December of 2004, Eva entered the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford North Dakota. Eva was under the care of Presentation Hospice at the time of her death, Paint by number and Bingo were her passions. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and volunteering at the Milnor Senior Center.
Eva died on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, at New Rockford. She was 82 years old.
She is survived by two sons, Harold (Rebecca), Las Vegas, NV, and Mark, Jamestown, ND; two daughters, Evelyn (Don) McAvoy, New Rockford, ND, and G. Ann Roones-Rivera, Albuquerque NM; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
