I gather you have been watching the news about the floods in Queensland, most of you know I live in Bundaberg where the floods started between Christmas and New Year, Today more bad news for locals here as the river is up again tonight and some people have been flooded out again this afternoon. Was sad to hear their stories again The river will get higher tonight but not as high as last time. And to top it off we now have a food shortage as the roads all around Bundaberg are blocked due to floods in other towns north, south and west. But the devastation further south is more heart breaking.
Now there are threats of cylones as its the cyclone season, there are a few around at the moment but they are not an immediate threat to QLD. WE DON"T WANT MORE RAIN! (Now the floods have gone over the border to NSW and Victoria. Anyway I am grateful I live in away from the river so I was not affected by the floods. I did go to buy some milk yesterday and was shocked at the state of the supermarket shelves - nothing! I have never seen them empty, it was an eerie feeling. The Army flew in supplies from NSW today so I don't think we will starve now! Some food items are very rationed, like milk and bread, No fuel can be purchased unless you have an emergency vehicle, but all in all I believe things will come good again I'm sure.
