My name is Kenneth Machado
and I started this site. This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me. Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 29222 names in our family site. The earliest event is the birth of Vologeses of Partha
(130). The most recent event is the death of Maria Correyro (born da Brum)
(Before 2774). The site was last updated on June 18 2013, and it currently has 17 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here. Enjoy!
Thanks for the info - I uploaded a gedcom file that had thousands of names in it and have been inundated with smart matches- over a thousand at last count. I will look into your instructions and see if I can make the corrections. I appreciate your pointing this out. Best Regards, Ron Machado
May I ask why you have this man with 6 wives. I checked each one. They do not all have the same information but are close enough to assume they are the same person. I believe that the default response to a warning of possible duplication in a Smart Match Merge should be, "No, don't make the merge" As the default, pressing ENTER as a response would move on the the next name without including the one in question. As it is, a lot of people hit ENTER and allow they match without checking it out. It would seem that you made at least 5 Smart Matches with sites that had Mary Osborne (born Goatley) in the list. The duplication app asked you about it each time and you just hit ENTER. The software is a Moron studying to be an Idiot. If the two listings were an exact match, you would not see the duplication warning. There would have been, "Merged" in the right hand column. Since it's a Moron, the software has rules it must follow. If you say that this is a new person, it will create a new person.
On the top of the Home Page in Family Tree Builder, there is a Tool Bar. It starts with FILE, EDIT and VIEW. It ends with TOOLS and HELP. Click on TOOLS. A drop down menu appears. You should run the Check for Duplicates app. Tree Consistency Checker is also important. I run the Consistency Checker for every 5 Merges I do. There's usually 5 errors found each time I run it. The first time I ran it I found error in 10% of my entries. It took weeks to run down each error.
