John M. Farnor, age 59, of 110 Burnie Bailey Road, Erwin, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
Mr. Farnor was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Earl and Elizabeth Lloyd Farnor and birth mother Edith Loyd Farnor.
He was employed with Fluor Daniels of Eastman Chemical Co. as an environmental safety instructor.
Mr. Farnor was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. He was a member of the Erwin Centennial Lodge No. 491 F&AM, a lifetime member of the Erwin Rescue Squad and American Red Cross.
He served as an advisory member to the Unicoi County Natural Gas Utility District and was a board member of the East Tennessee Solid Waste Management Board for Unicoi County. He worked with the Foster Care Program as a foster parent for 15 years.
