Kim has vast experience in the Perth jazz scene from his start with J.T. and the Jazzmen and freelance work backing many visiting overseas acts, to a ten year stint in a restaurant playing solo instrumental guitar. More recently he has been putting together special projects for Jazz Fremantle and the Perth Jazz Society and performing in duet with jazz diva Libby Hammer as well as leading his own band Blue Monk.
He can provide an intimate background with some smooth jazz standards from Tom Waits, Cole Porter, Gershwin and Richard Rogers to Dave Brubeck and A.C. Jobim, (vocal and instrumental, without backing tracks) with a touch of blues and even the odd pop song jazzed up.
Kim can also be hired in a duo, trio or quartet.
