Emelia Wunder
Emelia "Millie" Wunder, a longtime resident of Riverton, died at her home on Monday, May 29, 1989. She was 88.
Born July 10, 1900, in the Volga River Valley, Russia, she was the daughter of Carl and Maria Trout, residents of a German Colony in Russia.
She married Henry Wunder in 1920. They escaped to Germany from Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution, suffering many hardships including the loss of an infant daughter.
In 1931, they came to the United States, settling in Lingle. They farmed there until 1936, when they moved to the Riverton area. They farmed until 1959, when they retired to a home they built on East Jackson in Riverton.
Survivors include a son, John Wunder of Lander; one daughter, Jean Rapack of Lakewood, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wunder was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one son.
Services will be Davis Funeral Home in Riverton at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, with Dan Brossman officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
