This is an exerpt out of the Methodist news on the Saturday the 11th July 1903, On 30th May, at th Cootharaba Hill Methodist Church, by Rev A.H.Stokoe. George Alfred Hook son of Mr and Mrs Henry Hook married Edith Mary Preston daughter of Mr George Preston, and the late Mrs Lizzie Newboult Preston ( nee Smedley).The Brides brother Percy Walter Preston was best man, The bride was attended by Mary Gertrude Hook, and Lillian K. Preston, The choir sang a wedding hymn as both had been members of the choir as well as Sunday school teachers for a long time. As this was the first wedding held by the Rev. Stokoe, he presenrd them with a family bible on the occacion. A large number of guests retired to the brides family home for the wedding breakfeast. There was further news of how the sunday school and Choir had feted them to a very pleasant pre wedding party, and how highly the couple were respected for all the work they did in the church, they were presented with a clock, ...
