My name is Edward Doran and I started this site.

The family tree has several historical names including David Hunt who was born in Hunterdon County, NJ.  He earned his fortune after moving to Natchez, Mississippi via Ohio.  He owned several general stores prior to the Civil War.  He sold the stores and purchased several plantations which he distributed among his children.  Follow the Hunnicutt family via the Balfour family to Catherine Hunt Balfour.

Thomas Shields is another famous ancestor from Mississippi.  Sheilds graduated from the US Naval Academy and was stationed in New Orleans in 1812.  Following orders from Gen. Jackson, Shields capture British troops during the Battle of New Orleans.  The USS Shields, a WW II destroyer, was named in his honor.  The Hunnicutt family to the Shields family.

Follow the ISHAM family branch to William the Conqueror, the first Norman King of England, and Emperor Charles Charlemagne.  

Sir John Cary was a Chief Judge under King Richard II of England.  In 1400, King Henry IV banished Judge Cary to Waterford, Ireland, where he died less than 4 years in banishment.   Henry seized Cary"s estates, Cockington and Clovelly, for his loyality to King Richard II.   Cary served during the reigns of Edward III and Richard II.  Follow the Hunnicutt family via the Pleasants to the Cary line.

Benjamin Harrison V ,a signer of The Declaration of Independance, is a in-law.  The Harrison family produce two Revolutionary War generals.  To find this branch follow the Hunnicutt family to the Atkinson, to the Yates and Randolph families.  Benjamin's sister, Lucy, married Edward Randolph, son of Capt. Edward Randolph.
