My name is Robin Hoare and I welcome you here. This is not the standard welcome message which many people have, and you might like to think about telling us all about yourself. Don't be shy!
I live in Aotearoa, which means Land of the Long White Cloud and is also called New Zealand
I came here with my family on the waka (ship) Oriana I in 1970, and I consider myself now a Kiwi.
I find that I have more relatives than I imagined, some quite distant, but with the Internet this has become a small world.
I have tried to make sure that all the information here is reliable but some of it is copied from other people, which is the main purpose of this website as I see it. I have tried to check but please do your own checking if you can as I make no guarantees. I don't try to collect a huge number of names, but like to find out something about the places where my ancestors lived and their lifestyles if possible.
Like all of us, I have come across brick walls and am very keen to break these down. I'm also happy to email others in my extended family, and if you are my third cousin five times removed (or something like that) you qualify!
Don't hesitate to contact me if you wish. Happy hunting!
By the way, the eleborate coat of arms you see on the right is from the wealthy Hoare family. I come from a much poorer tribe! The name "Hoare" means white haired (hoar frost) which certainly describes the senior male Hoares I know.
