My name is Diane Christman
and I started this site. This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me. Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 1183 names in our family site. The earliest event is the birth of William de Clifton
(1227). The most recent event is the death of Harley Herbert Flint
(Aug 28 2012). The site was last updated on May 14 2013, and it currently has 4 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here. Enjoy!
I believe William Graves was born 1724-died 12/6/1809 and Dorothy Smith was born in 1724. William was the son of Francis Graves 1679-Oct. 1748 and Ann Reynolds 1680-10/21/1765. Francis' parents were Francis Graves 1630-8/5/1691 and Jane Davenport 1650-1699. Until this week I thought Francis 1630 was the son of Thomas Graves 4/1/1584-1635. A doubt was placed in my mind by a report that the listing of Thomas and Katherine Crosher (1586-5/24/1636) Graves' last child was proven by DNA test to be female. If you disbelieve DNA test or at least the people that pontificate about them, Capt Thomas Graves was an Adventurer (Stockholder) in the Virginia Company that founded Jamestown, VA. You can use your own judgement on this.
You are right. I corrected John Thomas Akard. I probably used a deleted page when adding Mr. Akard and didn't notice the box was checked for deceased. I had no date entered.
I have extensive date about most everyone in this photo. Jacob's Find a Grave.com Memorial # 29615775 has links to everyone here. 13 kids, WOW! If you add them to your tree, you can mark each one in the photo like I did for Jacob and Elizabeth. Have Fun! John

I sent the other message to find out if John Thomas Akard was still alive. You still have him as dead. Have to information that I don't concerning his passing away?

Tom
Now I don't claim that he is still alive, I haven't heard from him since then. Have you heard something or have you made a Smart Merge and not checked all the information. What is your source for placing Tom among those passed. John Louis Akard III
You have Laura as born Sept. 21 with no year. This cause the software to place her as the earliest event in your tree on the Home Page. Her son-in-law John Louis Akard II is my uncle. she was born in 1879.
5 Generations photo. Sibby and Jacob seated. L-R Martha Watkins Akard, James Robinson, Jacqueline Akard Robinson, Grace Arthur Watkins. Jim was born 1950 so picture is from the time.
I believe you have Elizabeth Aylett Steptoe (born Eskridge) with the wrong mother. Rebecca died in 1715. Elizabeth was born in 1716 at Sandy Point and die ca 1774 in Cople Parrish, VA. Her father married a second time to Elizabeth Vaulx. She, George and Rebecca are all buried in the same Cople Parrish cemetery in Westmoreland Co., VA. Check out Find a Grave.com Memorial # 16211162 for George's memorial. Both wives are linked to him there.
Rebecca divorced John. She must have taken back her maiden name because two of her sons, Nicholas and Andrew chose to take their mother's maiden name. Her other 8 children did not.
