Genealogy:Ron's mtDNA Story
Posted by: Dr. Ronald Hans Dysvick on June 4 2011 19:11

Haplogroup - H3

H3 is the second most common branch of H. Like H1, it is found mainly in Western Europe. However, H3 is not found in significant frequencies in the Near East. It is at its highest frequency in Iberia and Sardinia, and is about 16,000 years old. While some H3 samples have been found in the Near East, they may be present there due to more recent migrations from Europe. The country showing the greatest percentage of matches with Ron's maternal lineage is Morocco among Sephardic Jews.

Ron's mtDNA Results are shown below.

Genealogy:Connection to Drenthe Family Tree
Posted by: Dr. Ronald Hans Dysvick on May 17 2011 07:43
The Drenthes were relatives prior to the marriage of Jantje Woltjer to Wilko. The Family Tree Builder software, however, assumes the closest relative to Chad Dysvick (Jantje) and translates all the other Drenthe relationships in terms of Jantje. Prior to inserting Jantje, the Drenthes were cousins.

Menzo Nomnes 1560-1618 is a 14th generation great grandfather of Chad Dysvick. His son Hillebrand Menses 1605-1639, 13th generation great grandfather of Chad, Hillebrand's son Mense Hillebrants 1633-1662, 12the generation great grandfather of Chad, Mense's daughter Tjaecktjen Peters Menses 1655-1704 married a Swijgman is the 11th generation great grandmother of Chad, Tjaecktjen's son Geuke Hermans Harms 1685-1724 is the 10th generation great grandfather of Chad, Geuke's son Pieter Geukes 1706-1760 is the 9th generation great grandfather of Chad, Pieter's son Freerk Mentkes Kuiper 1741-1792 is the 8th generation great grandfather of Chad, Freerk's daughter Elizabeth Freerks Kuiper is the 7th generation great grandmother of Chad married a Woltjer, Elizabeth's son Freerk Jacobs Woltjer 1811-1878 is the 6th generation great grandfather of Chad, Freerk's son Derk Freerks Woltjer 1838-? is the 5th generation great grandfather of Chad.

The Drenthes became relatives when Titia Lubbartus Fabius 1735-1795 married Wilke Harms Drenthe 1732-1785.

Menzo Nomnes 1560-1618 had a son Nanno Menses 1590-1633 (brother of Hillebrand Menses) who had a son Aeldrick Nomnes 1625-1677; Aeldrick had a son Nomno Aeldricks 1662-1733, Nomno had a daughter Fenje Nomnes 1685-? who married Karseen Roberts 1680-?, they had a daughter Aafje Karseens 1709-?, Aafje had a daughter Titia Lubbartus Fabius. Therefore, both Drenthes and Chad Dysvick descend from the same great grandparents.

Genealogy:Ron's Y-DNA Story
Posted by: Dr. Ronald Hans Dysvick on Mar 22 2011 00:26

Origins, age, spread and ethnic association of European haplogroups and subclades

Surnames (Note: Ron’s Surname is R1b1a2a1a1b4 (L21+ Z246- P66- P314.2- M37- M222- L96- L226- L193- L159.2- L144- DF25- DF21-)

See the amazing story of this surname by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.eupedia.com/europe/origins_haplogroups_europe.shtml

Ancient ancestry:
The Artisans
Haplogroup:
R1b1a2a1a1b4; L-21 Celtic-Viking
Ron's ancient ancestral haplogroup is R1b1a2a1a1b4. This result means Ron is a subgroup of R1b, and here is that ancestral story. Because R1b was a predecessor to Ron's group, the majority of this story applies to Ron as well.

Ancient Ancestry haplogroup R1b, the Artisans, first arrived in Europe from west Asia about 35,000- 40,000 years ago at the dawning of the Aurignacian culture. This culture was remarkable for its subtle yet significant technological progress, like the shift from random flint collection to the use of a single stone core to shape flint tools as needed. Aurignacian decorative beads and jewelry could also be the first sign we have of the uniquely human quality of self-awareness and adornment. Additionally, some anthropologists believe that the Aurignacian culture was the first to paint. Either way, the people of this time period left behind fascinating cave paintings in France, Spain and Portugal.

The greatest paternal (i.e., Y-DNA) matches are among the Celtic peoples although Ron's paternal line for many generations has been from Norway.

See the accompanying Y-DNA certificate, SNP certificate, and Haplotree in the full article..
