He was on duty when the Aga Khan visted Calcutta, he was so rich he would just throw precious stones and money to the crowd. He spoke to my grandad and asked him how many children he had. He said 9 and so he gave him 12 beautiful cut diamonds for jewellery for my Grandma. These were made into two rings, one wich was a 9 diamond square ring, which the first time I went out with Neil she allowed me to wear, Aunty Div now has this. A second 3 stone ring was also made but the wearabouts of it now is no longer know.
Mum died on 18th March 1967 She was killed whilst walking down the road on her way to Paddington Station. At the time they were preparing the area for the new flyover that would go to Maryleborne W 2. Langs Builders were clearing a site behind a 12ft wall and thebulldozer picked up the foundation of the wall and it fell on her this was on 16th March 1967 and she died 2 days later of Gangreen posioning and phonomia.
