Thomas George was a regular soldier, saw service in India , France dischared at the age of 37yrs, he met Margaret Williams when she was 16yrs, married & had 8 chlidren, his pastime was knitting gloves & socks, a very quiet man, disciplined always, a member of the 'Buffs' a group of men just like the RSL here in Australia, a very loyal to his family, never took sides, he was 6ft 3. Whilst in the army he was the Coloured Seargent Major.
Kenneth Ashley was educated at the Rassau School in south wales uk, worked underground in the mines at thage of 14yr along side his father Thomas George, he was called up to join the Royal Navy in 1944 age 18 served in the Meditterean on HMS CHEQUERS HMS BYMS, HMS VOLAGE, served with Philip Mountbatten,
in 1948, released A 1 reserve was recalled in 1951 re; Korea. awarded the Royal Navy Service with the Palestine Clasp, Defence Medal, National Service Medal 1939-49
worked on the railways as engine driver, emigrated to Australia 1967.
