Welcome

My name is Elisabeth Meier and I started this site.  I am a direct ancestor of William Thomas who came over in 1630 from Wales.
This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me.  I encourage everyone to add any information and pictures.  This is your site too.

As most of you can tell I've added the family names as the heading so that everyone knows it's for all generations of those families.  If you find anything  wrong please send me an email so that I can correct them.  The picture on the right of this home page is of the Thomas/Webster Estate.  William Thomas was the original owner of that estate.  He arrived in Marshfield, MA in 1630 on the Mary and Ann Ship.  My sister Vicki and I went to the estate in July 2010 and I must say it was a trip I will never forget.  We were given a personal tour.  William Thomas's descendants sold the estate to Daniel Webster in 1832.  In 1993 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Of course William Thomas is not the only direct ancestor that I have that has a very colored history.  There are the Eccles that go all the way back to England.  The Tolleson family which I believe goes back to England.  My Great Grandfather Walter Gist Tolleson founded the town of Tolleson, AZ and he was a very colorful man.  As I remember he was very tall.  There is a photo of him holding me when I was maybe a year old (not quite sure).  In 1986 there was a Tolleson family reunion in Phoenix, AZ.  There was a huge showing of relatives and it was so much fun.  Maybe we will have another one.

I have done extensive research on my biological father's side, the Baumans.  Just recently I really was able to get quite far with my research.

Of course the Meier and Driscoll side is my husband's genealogy.

Our family tree is posted online on this site! There are 9209 names in our family site. The earliest event is the birth of Gwrwared ap Seisyll (1050). The most recent event is the death of Betty J Dorman (born Tolleson) (Feb 23 2013).
The site was last updated on May 22 2013, and it currently has 134 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here.   Enjoy!

Elisabeth Meier commented on the photo Roy & Hal Thomas's room at Mrs. Vorhees:
I think this is when they were going to school, although I don't know for sure. If anyone knows, please post on a comment here.
Elisabeth Meier commented on the photo W. Warner & Bess Watkins house in the middle of construction:
This is the side of the house. In fact the room was more like a sun room. I used to go over and play the piano which was in that room. My cousins and I also used to dress up in the old dresses that Aunt Bess had in a trunk.
Elisabeth Meier commented on the photo Looking into living room from dining room:
The clock on the fireplace mantel was there when I grew up there and we were living with our grandmother.

Elisabeth Meier commented on the photo two of the old homes on N. 2nd St:
This brought back such memories. This is what the street looked like in the 1940s and 1950s. Talk about feeling sad, I really was.
Elisabeth Meier commented on the photo closer view:
My younger sister Linda used to think there were a hundred stairs going up to the doors. We used to go up with our skates on and then of course come down.
Elisabeth Meier updated the details of Merrillyn Bauman/Donaldson (born Tolleson) in family tree: Thomas Family
