My name is Joan Holmes (nee Stevens) and I started this site. This site was created using MyHeritage.com. This is a great system that allows anyone like you and me to create a private site for their family, build their family tree and share family photos. If you have any comments or feedback about this site, please click here to contact me.
As I'm only on the basic plan (allowed 250 people only), some people have been left off. ATM there are 280 people, 113 families on the tree, so please feel free to contact me to see if I have further information on a particular person. Family tree summary The site was last updated on 14th April, 2013 and it currently has 5 registered member(s). If you wish to become a member too, please click here. Amongst the family names I am researching are: Ford, Hickey, Stevens, Holmes, Partridge, Dunn, Hoy. Enjoy! Thanks Joan The name 'Hickey' has been around since Daniel Hickey in the 1792. Daniel Hickey's son, James Hickey, was born in 1813. My father, James 'Jim' Stevens was the first person to have the name Hickey as a middle name, and so, the Hickey surname ceased to exist, at least on our side of the family. Our Dad, Jim Stevens' mother was Eliza Hickey, married George Stevens in 1889 in Gloucester NSW. Myself and nephew, James Stevens also have 'Hickey' as our middle name. Unless it continues down the generations by someone in this generation, the name may be lost. The oldest 'Frost' ancestor is Thomas Frost. .. Thomas' son, George Frost. was born 1778 at County Clare, Ireland and d. 1862 at Hovells Creek NSW , so Thomas may have been born approx. 1750-1755. On John's side, the Partridge family goes back to 1713. Aaron Partridges grandson, Stephen Partridge, immigrated to Australia in 1814 from England and was the first Superintendent of convicts at Port Macquarie. A very interesting past. Thanks for looking at the site Joan |
