The HYPERLINK "/wiki/File:Bowerman%27s_Nose_-_geograph.org.uk_-_12293.jpg"Bowerman's Nose

Bowerman's Nose is a stack of weathered granite on Dartmoor, Devon, England. It is situated on the northern slopes of Hayne Down, about a mile from Hound Tor and close to the village of Manaton at grid referenceSX742805. It is about 21.5 feet (6.6 m) high and is the hard granite core of a former tor, standing above a 'clitter' of the blocks that have eroded and fallen from it.Its height was exaggerated by writers in the 19th century and earlier, who also described it as an ancient object of veneration. A theory that its name was derived from the Celtic fawr maen, the "great stone" was refuted by R. Hansford Worth who pointed out that the correct Celtic form would have been maen fawr, so it could not have mutated into "Bowerman". A John Bowerman was buried at North Bovey in 1663 and the name also appears in a Dean Prior register of 1772, so it is possible that the name is of no great antiquity. With a little imagination, it is possible to see the profile of a human face in the rocky outline, but as John Page said in An Exploration of Dartmoor (1889): "If his nose bore any resemblance to the topmost layer of the pile, it cannot have boasted much comeliness."

The Legend

Not only is it a spectacular rock formation, which appears on many local postcards and calendars, but it, is also the subject of Dartmoor folklore.According to local legend, a huntsman called Bowerman lived on the moor around one thousand years ago. When chasing a hare he and his pack of dogs unwittingly ran into a coven of witches, overturned their cauldron and disrupted their ceremony. They decided to punish him, and the next time he was hunting, one of the witches turned herself into a hare, and led both Bowerman and his hounds into mire. As a final punishment, she turned them to stone - the dogs can be seen as a jagged chain of rocks on top of Hound Tor, while the huntsman himself became the rock formation now known as Bowerman'sNose

Latest Additions/Changes

12 August 2009 -
Well, I am NOT pleased with the results of the new family tree pages, but I will work on them as I learn more about this new software update. I will be updating these pages tonight with a basic subset of the database, which will include some of the later additions. After I get the pages the way I want them, I will run the full set.

Bear with me, they turned a basic, simple application into a device requiring an engineering degree. I may try to locate something else that will do the job.

27 July 2009 - I have removed the transcription pages of the Bowerman Family Newsletter, and replaced them with pdf versions of the original item! All twelve volumes are there, in full, and scanned at 300 dpi. The handwritten notes in them are those of Robert H. Bowerman, who graciously allowed me access to his copies for this project. I have opted to keep this all original, as the were published, rather than stripping data from them. Should anyone desire this data removed, please let me know and I will be glad to oblige. They may be found here: http://hawkshome.net/documents/newsletter/bowerman_newsletter.htm

21 July 2009 - Most repairs to the site have been completed. Minor issues may still exist and if found, please email me at:hsldysknight@yahoo.com. Several new events are in progress, thus my apparent inactivity on the website. First, I have had the pleasure of Meeting Robert H. Bowerman, a well known and often cited genealogist of the Bowerman Family. Due to health concerns, Robert has not been active with his research for some time. Living a mere 30 minutes away from me, he has kindly offered to let me obtain and copy the volumes and volumes of handwritten data he has assembled over several decades. NONE of this material is computerized, so it is going to take some time for me to scan and get it available to everyone. I have already scanned well over 1500 pages and just picked up another 3500 to work with. Some of this material will be appearing on the website in the form of PDF files. I give you fair warning now.... this is going to be a SEVERAL MONTH project. My eventual goal is to add an FTP server to the site that people can download directly from. This will include the close to 2500 digital volumes of research material I have available on my system.

Robert has also just submitted a 67 marker DNA test kit, as a male descendant of Ichabod4 Bowerman. More to follow on that as I get the results back.

Several good folks have sent me data updates and I will be running those onto the system this week. My goal is for Friday. I have to had to reload and reconfigure my web site generator used to extract the data from my master database. The changes are in place, just need to be uploaded to the site.

Lon and Tom: A DNA hit on your family lines. Might be interesting to get with these folks and compare notes. Drop me an email if you want to contact them.

Bowerman/Bowman Family Newsletter: I have recently found a complete set of this material and have converted it to a PDF format. I will be removing the transcribed material on the website and adding links to the downloadable versions.

Website Changes: Most have noticed that I had to remove the Mailing List and the "editable" genealogy database. This was the source of the security breach that allowed the website to be hacked. They have been terminated and removed. They will NOT be reinstated. What I CAN do, if enough people want it, is to setup a forum on the site where people can get into regular discussion. I would also, most likely, move the "Latest Additions" information into that area.

24 JAN 2009 - It's been a long couple of days, but the site is slowly getting back into place. We were very aggressively hacked and many very damaging features were added to the site. I think I have removed all the vulnerable areas that allowed them to access us.

It is going to be a long slow rebuild, folks. There are a few thousand pages in this site and many of the links, while there, are not showing to the eye yet. I have to rebuild each and every page as I become aware of them. You can drag your mouse across the left side of the page and if links appear that are not visible, please drop me an email at: hsldysknight@yahoo.com - I will fix it in very short order. I am one person, so it takes a bit for me to get there.

Bear with me - I be going as fast as I can.

22 JAN 2009 - Due to security vulnerabilities discovered in the .php scripting, the user modifiable databases are being removed from the website. I have master copies of the data on my personal system and anyone needing the data can simply email me for it. I will soon be back to work on the website as I have now retired and can give it the time it deserves. Just need to get back into the saddle again, so bear with me a bit.

25 Aug 2007 -The website is heading into some new updates, which have been long needed, to include one VERY major addition:

I have now added the ability for researchers to get into an online "COPY" of the master database I maintain for the site, and add, delete, modify, etc., the existing data I have. As this portion of the site is updated, I will then transfer it over to the master database we have always used on the site, and it cannot be affected by data entered here, unless I personally move it over.

What this is allowing is for folks to participate by working their own lines which will save me the hundreds of hours doing it, and then I can concentrate on the other areas of the site I need to work on. Such as adding sources and new research finds. I still have a few thousand hours of transcribing and scanning to do, so here is your chance to help out!

This is brand new and still undergoing updates and changes, so bear with us while we get things leveled out. The area is capable of being used now, so we are opening it up to you all.

Now finish reading this - lol! It has information you MUST know, in order to access this database.

1. You MUST be approved as a registered user. This is nearly instant if any of the three admins are near a computer. Simply click on the "Register for a User Account" link and fill out the info.
2. WHEN you register, please include your line of descent in the comments box. This tells me what portions of the database you will have editing privileges in and is REQUIRED.
3. On your DIRECT line only, I will require sources… and not internet website type. This is a research site and has a good reputation for documenting our claims. We are referenced by historical societies and archival facilities and I expect the quality to be maintained. Any data that is sourced, will be moved into our permanent database and your contributions acknowledged there.
4. I have restricted the ability of folks to view data related to "living" individuals. If this is your immediate family, I can allow you to work with that data upon request.
5. Photos and scans of documents are allowed and can be added to your family data.

As a side note… anyone actively participating in this project, will receive, twice a year, a fully prepared .pdf "book" relating to this family at no charge. The "book" is currently almost 1000 pages in length and will ONLY be available to those actively involved with the furthering of our research. This book will not be available on the commercial market.

Check it out and let me know what you think. I will be adding to it over the next few days so changes will be often, but usually subtle.

Have fun all!

Ron

1 May 2005 - Besides our mailing list get black listed by Comcast... sigh... we are back and at it once again!
NEW - For those of us that use PDA's, I have started searching around for some decent applications. They may be found in the new PDA Utilities section from the Home Page. Included there is a new application called "Gravesite Database, v1.1"... I just finished writing this and it is now available. You can read about it and get a trial from the website. More features coming!

21 Apr 2005 - Added a letter Written 3 Nov 1843, by Abial and Lucy (Bryant) Bowerman, to their parents. This one had a few issues with the transcription, but I think it's pretty much all there; work continues on the database

19 Apr 2005 - added a letter Written 21 10 1839, by Benjamin Bow[er]man of St. Albans, ME, to his brother Abial Bowerman, then of Milton, MA., discussing a farm he thought Abial might be interested in buying; Added Deed - Jonathan Bowerman, grantor, and Cornelius Bowerman, grantee, both of Hallowell; 11 acres in Lot Number 11, Second Concession of the Military Tract, Hallowell - 4 Feb 1831

18 Apr 2005 - Spent some time restructuring the website today. Found several areas that needed correction. Currently adding some of the letters from Maine, so be patient while I verify the transcriptions. I will post here as I get them added;

Added a letter Dated 19 Feb 1837, To Miss Ruth Bryant, of Boston [written by her sister Phebe (Bryant) Richmond]

17 Apr 2005 - Along with many database updates, I have added a scanned photocopy of the ORIGINAL deed of Daniel Bowerman, Yeoman, to Prince G. Bowerman, Yeoman, for 1-1/4 acres of land "laying in falmouth between the great Sippeawiset marsh and the bay..." for "twenty five Dollars." ; I am also starting a new section on the site called "Letters from/to Maine"... This will contain a large number of original letters sent between Bowerman family members that removed from Falmouth into the Fairfield, ME, area. This is incredible reading everyone - if you want a true taste of life back then, this is the place to watch. I will be adding them over the next few days as time allows. We also have a large number of new photographs that will be getting added.

I am currently working on the Maine branches of the Bowerman/Bowman family. If you have any data that will assist in this, please contact me!

25 May 2004 - Along with several database updates, I have also added a scanned image of a survey done of the Ancient Friends Cemetery in West Falmouth. I have no idea of the source for this document, other than it was found in West Falmouth originally.

30 Apr 2004 - Wow, where do I begin? The DNA project has met with fantastic results and we can now firmly establish Ichabod Bowerman of Dutchess County, NY., as not only a descendent of the Barnstable County Bowerman family, we can show with approximately a 95% confidence that he was the son of Thomas Bowerman (3)!!!!! The mystery has finally been broken! We are now undertaking research on other lines of the family, as well as trying to contact other Bowerman families in England in the hopes of finally tracking down Thomas's origins; Several updates have been made to the database since my last update here. I am slowly migrating more records and some of the early photo's are being attached to the individual "person pages" in the database.; Today added high resolution photographs of the Joseph Hatch Bowman Family Bible (c. 1883). These photos are of the original bible, which I had the extreme pleasure of holding in my hands today.

12 Mar 2004
- Added a Deed, dated 4 Feb 1831, between Jonathan Bowerman, grantor, and Cornelius Bowerman, grantee, both of Hallowell; 11 acres in Lot Number 11, Second Concession of the Military Tract, Hallowell; witnesses were William Thomas and Leonard Vincent. [Note: these images are from the original, but were received in three separate images. The files are large, so allow load time]

10 Mar 2004 - Added a "National Copy Book" in which are 18 pages of poems and thoughts written by Rachel Jane "Cronk"

9 Mar 2004 - more yet for the Holding Area - this time in the form of an Indenture of Lease, between Stephen Cronkhite and John. G. Clark, dated 29 May 1876; added the 1851 Grant of Probate for the will of Peter Cronkhite;

8 Mar 2004 - The "holding cell" has been added to, in the form of three letters written between 1838 and 1851, by Samuel Hughes. These are worth reading folks - if nothing else, but to get a "sense" of how our ancestors thought and lived; Also added a copy of the will of Peter Cronkhite - 1851; Estate Inventory (undated document) of Rachel Cronkhite; Quit Claim Deed [original]; Rachel Cronkhite to Stephen & Peter Freeman Cronkhite, both parties of Hallowell, dated 4 Nov 1871; Quaker Marriage Certificate (from Original) of Samuel Charles Saylor and Rachel Jane Cronkhite, d. of Rachel and Peter Chronkite, dated 27 Sep 1871;

6 Mar 2004 - In light of requests for more information on the Cronkhite family of New York and Ontario, Canada, I have obtained photocopies of the original documents held by the Ontario Archives in the Cronkhite Fonds. These are being placed in a temporary area so that researchers can gain access to them. I will be moving them in time, to their proper places.

3 Mar 2004 - Added several new pages of transcribed colonial documents that had an effect on early New England. Many more are forthcoming and will be listed in order of date.

25 Feb 2004 - I have added a page that begins to list some of the common "myths" regarding the Bowerman Family. Each one is discussed in the "family tree" pages of the website, but are provided as a quick reference.

12 Feb 2004 - I have a full copy of the typewritten manuscript written by A.C. Bowerman. Let me know if anyone needs references, or a good copy.

02 Feb 2004 - Added a page of Source Citation examples that should be used when submitting data to this website for inclusion!

26 Jan 2004 - A couple of new items in the works. First, the new Fiche Reader/Printer has arrived and with it, a few Fiche of old records. I have started ordering films of ORIGINAL town records. Secondly, the ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT of Merton Yarwood Williams has been located and is being sent to me. This includes duplicate copies of the ORIGINAL Photographs he had with his manuscript. I will be removing the transcription and scanning the document into the website, along with scans of the Photos. Keep Watch!!

22 Jan 2004 - I'll bet you all thought I have been sleeping, huh? I have been diligently working on updating and getting some new material ready for the site. It's another big jump for us in the world of records and "accurate" reporting. I will be adding some new references as well, to include some sample forms that we all use in everyday life. Keep watch for new things!

7 Jan 2004 - In and amongst the various database updates, I have added the Bowerman Family references from Milliken's 1911 "History of Ontario County, N.Y." as a new reference for Silas4 Bowerman enthusiasts!

22 Dec 2003 - HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!! A couple of folks have written and asked why I have people in place without sources. I am hand entering all of this data, from a combination of about 6 databases. Often, I will add the names as "placeholders" and although the "source" data is not included, it means that those lines are being worked on. Keep checking back on a daily basis because I work on this, adding new material, every single day. If you need sources for any of this material, I can help you, privately, via email. Send a query to rlahti@hawkshome.net

17 Dec 2003 - I apologize for the problems with links today - the site was hacked as part of a "hacking contest" that is currently happening. If you find any pages that just do not look right, please let me know via email immediately so I can repair it. I am going through it all now attempting to find what all was damaged.

16 Dec 2003 - Some folks have been asking about "Quaker Dating" so I have put up a page sent by Lon Bowerman as a reference (Thanks Lon!)

12 Dec 2003 - Added a map dated 1812 - "Hallowell Land Holdings (Military Concessions) of Henry Young and Family" [These were the lands obtained by Thomas5 Bowerman - being described as "Lot 1, Concession 1, Military Tract, Township Hallowell...(Ontario, Canada)" - Courtesy of Doug Norman];

11 Dec 2003 - Added Three pages of Ontario, Canada Marriage records, as extracted from the Ontario Marriage Registers, 3 volumes, dating 1858 - 1899. This collection is strictly "Bowerman" references at this time, but I can add collateral families on request.

10 Dec 2003 - Added a few more certificates and added a little more detail to Thomas2 , his wife Mary, and her father, Robert Harper; I will be making some minor changes to the exhibits over the next few days, so check back if one is missing for a bit. They will only be down for a few minutes each.

5 Dec 2003 - Several new additions to the database have been added, to include a previously unrecorded daughter of Seth and Mary (Burges?) Bowerman, Deborah. This new line and sources [images will be added as available] are courtesy of fellow researcher Mary Osborne. Thank you Mary!; Also have added the Sandwich VR Quaker record extracts from the Sandwich MM back to the site.

25 Nov 2003 - Completed the addition of some new Linked Charts (One Descendant Chart for Thomas Bowerman and a sample pedigree based on my personal lineage. If you wish your family pedigree listed, just email me!)

10 Nov 2003 - The cemetery Database has been updated with over 19,200 records, with samplings from all Barnstable County Cemeteries. We will be updating this on a daily basis, until we complete the database (about 25,000 listings estimated for Barnstable County alone.) I have also incorporated a better "Soundex" algorithm for the database.

3 Nov 2003 - Began adding material to the new "Records Database" area of the site. This first inclusion begins with some cemetery records from Barnstable County and will eventually be including such things as published vital records, etc. This is a long term project, but the added capability of being able to use "soundex" searches on the site makes it worthwhile. I will be adding more every day, so check them out often!

29 Oct 2003 - Work continues on the database updates. If you have additions, corrections, or evidences, please send them along! Added a Timeline of Canadian History, submitted by Lon Bowerman - thank you!

19 Oct 2003 - Added a page of Land Record Terms in the reference area;

16 Oct 2003 - For all you Falmouth Cousins: Another Mayflower Line has been established tracing back to Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower. I am currently working on getting the details entered into the database with the citations and documents. This has been a 3 day project so far, thus explaining my lack of new material. I will have it in place by this weekend. [UPDATE:This line has been added to the database. More sources and documents for this line are coming, but enough is there now to validate the line. To locate the data, simply search for the Hopkins Surname]

10 Oct 2003 - Reinstated the BGNet Mailing List for those that wish to subscribe. Simply follow this link to subscribe: BGNet Mailing List Subscription

9 Oct 2003 - Added Power of Attorney granted by Thomas Burman and Anthony Annible (and others) to manage the lands granted them in Namassakesett [In two parts] - 1669 (Digital Scan of photocopied Document); Deeds between the Indians and the Original Proprietors of Falmouth (Saconessett) - 1661 and 1662; as recorded in the Plymouth County Commissioners Office, in Plymouth, MA.

7 Oct 2002 - After a years hiatus from the world of Genealogy, we are once again back online, with a complete revamp of the website. A lot of new research has been done and many new primary sources will s0on be made available here. I have chosen to move the old BowermanGenealogy.net site here, rather than keeping up with 4 websites as I used to do. Much of the old Hawkshome site has been updated with references and structuring from there. Please notify me should any errors be found as I get this rebuilt!

13 Sep 2002 - Added 1779 - "Sauthiers Map of the Province of New York", dated 1 Jan 1779
[This is a 6.0 Megabyte file - please allow download time]; Also completed the addition of the Falmouth 1850 and 1860 Census pages listing Bowerman/Bowman surnames

15-17 Jul 2002 - Have been redoing much of the website, as we now have 600 meg of space available, as well as some other new features. These are technical changes only and do not affect the website.

21 Jun 2002 - We are experiencing severe issues with our mailing lists, due to a server/software update at our web hosting company. Please be patient, we are working on this as fast as possible. The Discussion Forum is a good alternative.

20 Jun 2002 - Many new things going on! We have now added a Discussion Forum for our members. You can get to it from the Communications Page. Take the time to explore this folks! You will not believe all the things we can do in there!

In addition, we have added a text based "chat room" to the website. Here, you can meet and talk with other researchers! This is also available from the Communications page link above.

We have started adding the database of Thomas Bowerman's descendants. This is still a work in progress. We are waiting on a software update before printing everything out. Some of the "sentences" are still a little rough, but we'll get them tweaked over time.

BOWERMAN SURNAME
DNA PROJECT

SCOPE
This project is a multi-surname DNA project. The BOWERMAN Surname DNA Project includes the all currently known variants of the name, such as BURMAN, BOURMAN, BOWMAN, BOORMAN, etc.. Any other possible variants of the surname will be added, if there is sufficient evidence to believe they might be useful in the project. The project will address the ancestry of these lines by studying the "Y" Chromosome of living males with ancestry consisting of father, grandfather, great grandfather, g.g. grandfather, g.g.g. grandfather, etc., up the surname male line to their first ancestor to be positively identified through genealogical records.

At this time, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) which is always inherited from the mother through female descent, will not be addressed in this project.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Genealogy has traditionally used oral history and documentation as a means of identifying family members and their ancestors. However, researchers have primarily used documents and records to track generations of families by establishing pedigrees and lines of descent. In genealogy research, the surname is frequently a usable tool to trace descent from one generation to another generation. As early as 2850 BC, the Chinese found the use of surnames was practical to identify families and to prevent the intermarriage of close relatives. There were always questions regarding skin, hair color and other physical characteristics and people recognized there must be something in their families that passed these similarities or differences down through successive generations. There were few answers until genetic science was
used in genealogy!
There have been questions in each of the project surname's lineages about parallel lines of descent, with same or similar surnames, which could not be connected to a common ancestor. Questions were also asked about the origins of their surnames. Was each surname from the same geographical location, maybe a county or city in England, Scotland, or elsewhere? Were other similar surnames from the same origin? From a common ancestor?

Genealogists have examined other surnames spelled much like their own or that sounded the same in efforts to find ancestors. Names were frequently misspelled because individuals could not read or write, and clerks spelled the surnames and gave the families names as they saw them. Ancestors decided to add letters like a, s, l and e to their names; others simply dropped letters out of their family names; while still others took completely new names when they migrated. Records were lost by fire, war and other disasters. Genealogy can be a very frustrating, challenging and time consuming endeavor.
A system called Soundex was invented to include whole groups of surnames in a numbering system, and in that system Beal is found at the designation B400
However, investigative methods did not always find that elusive ancestor. "Brick Walls" are what the genealogist frequently call the dead ends where all attempts to find an ancestor failed.

Today, there is a new investigative tool called genetic genealogy. This is the branch of knowledge arising out of the study of genes first identified in 1909 for identification of inherited physical characteristics. Later, it was found that deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was contained in chromosomes and acted as a carrier of genetic information.
Since 1940, the chemical nature of DNA has become a science revealing more and more of the mysteries that make up the human body. It now has become a science that permits the identification of individuals by the use of DNA.
DNA is used widely in criminal investigations, court proceedings on paternity cases and other issues requiring individual identification. Talk shows and other media have popularized identifying fathers of children by DNA.

MtDNA has been demonstrated to be a useful way of tracing relatives. It was successfully used in identifying the daughters and Czarina in the Anastasia case in Russia. It was also used in Argentina in the investigation of murder and kidnapping where children had to be identified.
More recently, the use of the Y chromosome has been used in family reconstruction, and Y chromosome haplotypes have been used in male descent lines to establish common markers for inclusion or exclusion from a family paternal lines. Haplotypes are a set of markers on the Y chromosome.

DNA was used in a controversial case determining relationships in Thomas Jefferson's descent. Other examples are the Mumma and Duerinck Surname DNA Projects, Sykes, Carvin, Savin, and Page Surname DNA studies.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this Y Chromosome DNA Project are:
1. To establish Y chromosome haplotypes for each of the surnames included in this project.
2. To set up charts of the Y Chromosome, including each DNA sample that has been submitted by the participants.
3. To establish if there are common ancestors for each of the surnames.
4. To determine the commonality, if any, between the participating surnames.
5. To determine any commonality in the origins of the surnames, using the first ancestral place of origin from each pedigree for each sample.
( Look at the charts used in the internet DNA surname projects and studies listed below)

OPERATION OF THE PROJECT
Any descendant with at least a five generation proven paternal lineage will be welcome to participate. A living person's privacy will be protected during the course of the project and in the reporting phase. I have hopes that we will have a number of participants with many more generations of male descent than the required five.

This requirement has recently been modified, please see Sign-up Form

If you do not want to participate fully and want to take the test only, go directly to the sign up form and complete that and submit it as directed.
This is a private, not commercial, project for BOWERMAN family genealogists, like myself.

I should add, for the squeamish individuals, that the testing will NOT be done by drawing blood, but it will be done by swabbing the inside of the cheeks of your mouth (self help)! Kits will be furnished to each participant for that purpose.

If you are interested in being on the cutting edge of a new genealogy tool and have the proven 5 generation lineage or more, please submit your name, mail address and your established proven pedigree; including each generation of males, dates of b., d., spouse, place of residence to my e-mail address at:
The project Coordinator will contact you directly with a direct address and phone number, for further questions.
I cannot enter into postal correspondence to respond to questions on this project at my home, as the postal cost would be prohibitive for me, as I have
no sponsor for this project. I believe any individual will find answers to their questions by using the sites below.

This web site will be a focal point for the project and to post the project results. Each participant will be given their individual results and given access to the web site. Each will be identified by a coded number in the charts. None of the participants will be identified nor will their family lineage be posted without their permission.

I can tell you that we already have participants in each of the studies and many of them have more than 12 generations of male surname ancestry to offer to the studies. As participants encourage other genealogists to participate and as the word of mouth and published word spread, I hope to reach our target goal of 60 participants fairly soon. Then we can enter the final stages of the project's operation. We are at the forefront of this new technology.

I recommend reading a layman's explanation of DNA FOR FAMILY HISTORIANS in a 32 page paperback of the same name by Alan Savin at: http://www.savin.org/dna It costs $6.99 postpaid, and his site accepts other international legal tender. He is extremely knowledgeable and has been providing me with free advice for this
project. I receive no remuneration from the sale!

Other sites below may be of interest to you and will answer many of your questions:

Thanks for your interest and participation in this project.
OUR DISCOUNTED PRICES ARE THE MOST REASONABLE IN THE WORLD FOR PROJECT PARTICIPANTS.
